Super Rugby Rnd 1 2020: Sunwolves v Rebels

Rebels are amusingly bad. Turned it on for 5 minutws to see a scrum penalty conceded, a breakdown penalty conceded and a penalty kick miss touch.

Get a scrum penalty. Kick for touch and then drop off lineout...

Something seems seriously wrong at the Rebels. Makes me wonder if it was the assistant coaches Wessels had that made him look better with the Force. He's got arguably a lot better roster than back then, but the team has been playing so poorly.

People always say they love a 10 that straightens the attack but that's all Matt To'omua does. He can't run an effective backline with width to save himself.

Genia and Quade carried the Rebels attack last year. They've barely got Korobiete involved in phase play. Lomani looks ok.

To be fair we were always going to be shit look at all the players we lost and we recruited nobody of note. We were no good last year what did people expect

Positive for Rebs was scrum dominant (how it seemed even on penalties beyond me). Poor coaching/leadership was going for line-out with 1 or 2 mins in 1st half, to me unless your down 20+ you take the 3 and make it 1 score game.

Thats because, as I've been banging on about endlessly, hes not a farking 10.

I think they will be lucky to win 1 game, a lot of trys against and boost everyone's points difference for the season.

Let's face it, there full time squad is not going to scare anyone. They are a bit different with the number of players from outside the squad at there disposal, just depends on what the higher ups decide to do.
This is looking quite silly at the moment

Yep in hindsight it looks like such a poor squad. There's the odd decent player (Isa, Korobiete) but in reality there's a lot of guys that have done nothing at Super rugby level.

Only positive for the Rebels is we are one game closer the seasons end and not having to put up with this crap anymore

To be honest, the Rebels still have a really good roster on paper, and last year had a fantastic one. There’s wallabies and experience across the squad, people expect more because of the individual talent which exists, it’s just just that they fail to put I together collectively
