Honestly, the Rugby community can be it's own worst enemy in this country. How a 10 week competition featuring some pretty good Rugby cannot maintain your attention is just baffling.

It’s the same 5 teams with some pretty big variance in skill level
But no, you’re right. The “rugby community” should sit through 2 games a week even if the games don’t peak their interest.

What do you mean it’s not that hard lol, watching footy shouldn’t be a chore, there shouldn’t be anything “hard” about it
Don’t know what there is to be honest or dishonest about but yes I’d watch roughly the same amount of AO games as I do AU games

No issues watching it from me. Playing teams twice a year isn’t an issue for me, every other sport does it sometimes more than twice a season or even twice in a week.
The beauty of the current format is that all teams can play for something meaningful still (8 weeks into a season, previously teams and fans had already given up and waiting for next season) or even if there is the slimmest chance then there is another competition to target in a few weeks time. One of the best things that could happen to Aus rugby would be if a different Aus team wins the TT comp than the SRAU. Two teams with silverware and two sets of fans happy. Add a third team that can make a final, all of a sudden more than 50% of your teams have experienced some sort of success this year.
I’m still happy the Rebels made a finals game last year (ino 3 out of 5 teams make it) but it was an achievement for the club and something to build on with retaining rosters, engaging fans and giving players positive experiences. We can always go back to the possibility that none of our teams can have any success over the year and create negative connotations around the game, that worked amazingly the last 10yrs

Well the two games a week for super rugby au is close to my quota with odd extra game a week...mainly because still got young family and kids who need to spend time with and sadly not got the family on the rugby train. Plus my teenage daughter ice hockey player so end up watching lot of her games / taking to training etc. Thank god for pvr’s as that is how i sneak in extra games.

Family and things make life busy. I get that. And that's not what I'm getting at. It's the attitude of not my team, I'm not really bothered. And then we wonder why the game struggles to generate media interest.

Yep same thing, although it’s a little bit more entertaining given the standard but I care a little less for the players

Judging by the crowd at the Reds/Brumbies game, it seems like the average fans are loving domestic rugby.

Yes, but please remember it does not mean anything until you beat every international team in the world every weekend on a regular basis and then you can start celebrating.

Yep but I not sure the average fans in Sydney and Melbourne are quite as much in love. Reds results (and Broncos I think) will result in great crowds for most rugby this year, and fully expect to see same in TT games theer this year.

Reds have the perfect storm this year of being the best side in it and the Lions and Broncos struggling. Helps get more of the fair weather fans to watch them
