Still can’t quite get my head round Philip’s performance last night, locks just don’t consistently make metres like that. He makes it look like a fluke then does it again & again against top defence.
His efforts to ‘stop McReight in the lead up to Tate’s try were pretty damn average though.

So am I overreacting or should something further happen to the Rebels manager? You cannot tell me they made an "error" and it was an honest mistake.
It had me scratching my head. At first I thought they were trying to replace an injured forward with another forward because of an HIA (obviously wasn’t paying enough attention, as he limped off) but thought, why do they need to bring a forward back on when it wasn’t a front rower? Had the rules changed? I reckon the guy in charge will be put in a different role and as said above, a strongly worded letter along the lines of “if you ever, ever try and pull that sh*t again….”

Personally... if we are talking over hyped... I think young Petaia is.... and injury prone... at least you could argue Sunivalu was a solid player for the Storm in a tougher game.. has been unlucky since switching, but agree he does need to start earning his cash...
Agree. Petaia is lucky to have a Super Rugby contract let alone a RA top up IMO. Shows potential but must be the most inconsistent player in the comp and hasn’t improved in 2 years. Someone has hope that it’s going to click at some point. I’ve seen other players dropped for far less.

Perhaps the worst take I’ve seen on GAGR ever. And gees we’ve seen some shockers.

I think the confusion came from the commentators who suggested HIA, but to be fair that might have been perplexed why a replacement ran on. Silly call by Rebels manger because there would surely have been a sanction ir the Rebels got up with him on, and a bad look for the 4th official who got totally bluffed

There is old Derps calling young Donaldson a ‘Shitshow’, one of the worst Waratah 10‘s ever and that he should go back to 4th grade!! Think that is the best by a country mile!
I think Petaia is a Super rugby player... just not convinced of the high praise he constantly receives considering his inconsistency.... played for Wallabies way too early in my opinion... I hope he develops to reach his potential...

Reg, I’m not the only one in the broader rugby community outside of QLD.There are many with VERY rose coloured glasses in the QLD camp ATM. I’m not sure if some think the positive talk will overshadow the reality.

RE: next weekend Super Round

Stadium looked about 8% full tonight. Are they planning on getting more in?
Let's host a match on Good Friday in the middle of school holidays and expect to get a crowd.

We watched it from our campsite on the Murray river, only 5 long term members in our group alone.

Jordie is very good when he is on however extremely injury prone, unfortunately that kicked in again last night. Simply can’t rely on him as as a consistent player atm.

I think he is good but if I was an opposing coach/tactician I would always kick to the right hand corner of the field and force him to run to his left, he does not seem to have a left footed kick even when under pressure. I think it was his first run that was in goal that he ran right to left did not even attempt to clear the ball with a left footed kick. He has proven his ability to kick a clearing ball while running at full speed left to right so kicking to a point on the field that allows this is pointless.

Petaia has had his injury problems, that is without doubt.

But I just can’t see how anyone can deny Petaia’s ability.

It’s crazy isn’t it, to say he shouldn’t have a super rugby contract is a ridiculous statement
I didn’t say that. I said he is lucky to have a Super Rugby contract. A player to have so much time off with injury and not to improve from year to year … I think he is ‘lucky’. Top kid.

I always thought CFS was lucky to be re-signed due to his injury issues while at the Reds.

We get cranky with players when they take contracts to other teams for "not showing loyalty", but somehow it's a problem the Reds and RA have shown 'loyalty' and 'faith' in someone they perceive has having talent?
