Australian Rugby / RA

Rugby is the only sport of any significance on Stan and unlike sports clubs that have a membership base a Stan subscription is the closest proxy for membership of the Wallabies.

The fact that the ARU is structured in such a way in splendid isolation of direct and pointed feedback is part of the problem.

Its the only path to feedback I can see that has any hope of working.
I can't imagine there is much of feedback loop between Stan's subscriber complaints department and RA... nor should there be - especially, again, as this doesn't pertain to anything that Stan has any real influence over.

If anything, your email should've been directed to RA.

We open on a dimly lit basement office deep in the bowels of Stan HQ. A spotty 19 year old hears a ding on a computer, looks up from his phone and reading the email his eyes noticeably widen. He picks up the phone - "Jim, you're going to want to see this"

The email is pored over by increasingly senior execs, before landing on the desk of the CEO in a matter of minutes. He takes one look at it and shouts to his secretary - "Margaret, get McLennan on the phone. NOW"

Cut to two days later, as an ashen faced McLennan walks out of Moore Park, shoulders slumped and carrying a cardboard box.

The assembled throng cheer wildly, beers flow freely and Phil Waugh promptly orders the biggest trophy cabinet available to fit the Moore Park entrance lobby. Because now it's only a matter of time.

Apparently McLennan's wife has been fighting in the Instagram comments on the announcement of Eddie departing. Blaming the players not the coach, still in EJ (Eddie Jones)'s corner somehow. Classy.

Ehhh nothing too firey
After wishing Jones “nothing but the best”, Lucinda went straight back to shifting the blame, turning the spotlight back on the players.

“(Jones) came into a dire situation and at the very least improved the winning spirit of the Wallabies,” she wrote. “The coach doesn’t make the players.”

It's a little sad...

Who cares lol. State of modern journalism. Thought the AFR was meant to be a serious newspaper. Legit Daily Mail tier stuff. I'm sure there are slightly bigger fish to fry atm.

I've seen far worse wasn't exactly anything serious she said. And I'm sure people have said far worse about her husband.

Maybe, and while it's true the AFR has some questionable journalism...

The wife of the Chairman probably shouldn't be trolling Australian rugby fans on Instagram.

Probably.

The article was published under the AFR’s Rear Window column. It’s a opinion piece column that basically takes the piss out of poor corporate conduct and governance.
Unfortunately it is no longer written by Joe Aston (who highlight Alan Joyce’s failings resulting in his early departure).
You end up in this column being ridiculed without mercy because of your failings, arrogance, ethics or any combination of the aforementioned.

Hamish McLennan you deserve this.

Yeah it's not a good look for the Chair when his wife is getting into petty arguments on social media defending a bloke he appointed who has just left a steaming pile on the doorstep.

Sometimes things are better left unsaid. The game really doesn't need that right now.
