Quite sad after all this time that Deans has been shown to be at least as, probably more, out of touch with the game than PdV. His belief that a 7's role isn't as a fetcher anymore also seems quite opposed to the Boks view who are in effect playing 2 in Brussouw and Burger and having far more success at the breakdown than we are.

Add Battleship and you have three and a totally different Bok prospect to which running around in 3 Nations rugby.

IMO it doesn't really matter who the Boks play in the QF, they're going through to the semis. Cannot see the Wobs getting past them if Ireland win tomorrow and the Boks will swat Ireland away if Italy somehow win.

It would almost be a travesty to the comp if we got through on the poor rugby we are playing, espcially those teams that put in 70-80 minutes but dont quite have the talented players. Look at the guts Samoa put in last night, they shame us.

The Kiwis lame excuse after choking back in 2007 is that we had an easy draw. You can only play what is in front of you and myself would love to see us do it the hard way. Dont care if its Italy/Ireland/Wallabies. If you want to win it, win every game from here. If we lose against the Walabies in the quater it sure wont be the end of the day. Myself has never been a big WC lover, I dont like this competition for many reasons. I just want to see the Bokke win. That is all.

Well, it wasn't really an excuse cause it wasn't related to why the All Blacks didn't win. But if you honestly don't think that you had an easy run - an unprecedentedly easy run, in fact - you're dreaming. Yeah, you can only play what's in front of you and if the AB's won this tournament by only having to beat Ireland, Wales and Tonga (the 6th,7th and 13th ranked teams - which is where Argentina, England & Fiji were in 07) in the knockout stages I wouldn't give a stuff, but I also wouldn't be denying that it was a dream run.

I hope Smit starts as BDP is a machine. Roussow is in career best form as well so hopefully the pick Bakkies. I think Franny Steyn is a big loss for the Boks as he has been brilliant at 12 & his long range penalty goals are deadly.

The fact that this game is at Wellington is an advantage for the Boks as they love the bomb & the Cake Tin is know for swirling winds.

Don't know what to think of this Aussie team as there is shitloads of talent but they all seem flat & out of form especially Beale, Cooper & Horwill who I think have been below par.

Ref will be Lawrence, Owens, Barnes or rolland. Hopefully they give the french game to rolland as he speaks french. And I honestly dont know how they could persist with bryce lawrence as he is so very bad.

So here's hoping we draw Barnes or Owens, the lads are going to need all the help they can get to overcome the bok forwards.

Your forwards have manned up to the Boks well of late and your kicking game has also been better.

I will say that the bok team is playing better than they have for the last 2 seasons but as I have said elsewhere, the recipe to beat them is much the same, as the Welsh showed.

With Pocock back the Wobs start as favorites in my book.

Very charitable, Blue. But I would rate the Bokke forwards, man by man, save for Smit, as good or better. And that includes Brussow for Pocock. And that's where we will struggle. If it was all evens up front, I think our backs would do the job. My concern is that I don't think it will happen.

The Brussow Pocock debate is going to go for years and what a battle it will be! I actually think Brussow may end up being the better player, but Pocock would never ever dive like Brussow did, so Pocock will always be the man in my eyes.
