Mount Isa lays claim do being the worlds largest city by area

I know it technically starts with M not I but its a cracking fact

I'll back you up with this, because it's usually referred to by locals as the Isa.

Yes it is the world's largest city by area. Also home to the world's longest street. Camooweal Street runs from Mt Isa to Camooweal, some 188km away.

It also used to claim to have the biggest rodeo in the Southern hemisphere, and the tallest smoke stack in the Southern Hemisphere at the Mt Isa Mines. Not 100% sure if either of these are still true, but it all combines to make Mt Isa appear to be the Texas of Australia (incidentally the state of Texas would fit inside Mt Isa's area)

Or I could just say Illarwill. A small town outside of Maclean that is Koori for magpie.

Lombadina - community in the Kimberley, about 200km (although it seems much further due to the road there) north of Broome. God's country. Sublime, empty beaches, the whitest sand and bluest water I've ever seen. Gorgeous sunsets, great fishing and mud crabs galore.

Hawks Nest - glorious little spot on the mid north coast of NSW. Former holiday spot of John Howard.
