For all the people that thought BGS were going to come 4th at the start of the season...you know who you are...boy were you wrong
Well done. Congratulations Grammar for proving people like me wrong. Embrace this victory, you were ultimately the better team today and you thouroughly deserve the premiership. I think another grammar premiership won't be in the next twenty years. I think a victory such as this signals a new era in schoolboy rugby were it doesn't conist of bloodbaths and the team with the most scholarships win.
Shout to BBC who i believe should keep their heads, IMO they could have gone a podium position but were burdened with injurys.

I would like to thank everyone who contributed to this forum. It has been an wonderfully entertaining 9 weeks, and I have loved the good natured banter and insightful comments that have come along the way. Gotta love the best schoolboy rugby competition in Oz. See you next year.

Didn't like their sportsmanship during the game either. From what I heard, they seemed like they were echoing some of Churchie's words by chanting about his mum while he was taking a kick. Any noise at all during kicks is disgraceful - it just lowers the standard of rugby being played, and after all, most people are there to see a good game of rugby.

on another note too, there was some talk throughout the BGS boys about running onto the field directly after the game resulting in a forfeit. Is there any truth about this happening or was it just talk from the school leaders trying to stop people running onto the field?

I have followed this forum and have enjoyed it very much till now. Obviously these are BGS posts of people who were not there.Firstly at the end of the game for no reason at all Sam Greene came over and gave the entire Nudgee grandstand the finger. This may have incited the events that you talk about.Secondly I sat on the Nudgee side of the field and no chanting was made about his mum.On the other hand someone was blowing a horn from Grammer that resulted in Jack Tuttle missing kicks. So much so the Dep Head of Nudgee went around there to talk to the Grammer teachers about it.

Boys, grammer deserved to win but an 11-2 penalty count to them in the first half kept them it when Nudgee looked like blowing them of the park. I think some honesty needs to be used when posting

Not your conterpart mate but good try.

What a stupid post. You won the premiership and yet you have to be a dick about it, where's the sportsmanship gone mate?

Have to agree, they could probably beat the All Blacks right now.

It's sad to see what this has come to, with these arrogant BGS posters ultimately shadowing what should have been a glorious day for the school. I can just imagine that they are students trying to be funny, and I doubt that they are genuinely good at rugby themselves. Unfortunate reflection upon the school.

I went out to Ross Oval today to watch what was effectively the 'Grand Final' of the competition. The wind was absolutely blowing a gale, so when Nudgee got up-19-3, BGS simply needed to hang in there, with Greene's boot to have a significant influence in the latter half. BGS 4. was a standout, as well as the regulars: 8. Cornelson, 10. Greene, 13. Birch. For Nudgee, 10. James was making regular breaks, but as aforementioned lacked support. Tuttle made some yardage but was ultimately beaten by his opposite today.

At the end of the day, the tactical nous of Greene and the BGS team in general got them the win. Some of the passages of play in which he utilised his kicking game to their advantage was highly impressive. Cornelson in attack in the second half was probably individually the best half I have seen this season. While he might be a little light for an 8, (or for any forwards position for that matter) at a higher level, his nous and general awareness is top-notch for a schoolboy.

Well done to Grammar, condolences to Nudgee, they just weren't quite up to it today.

If he did it at the end of the game how could it have incited the events? They were calling out whilst he was kicking before the end of the game. They were calling out regardless of what you heard.

I was standing next to grandstand and no one called out, .You are dreaming buddy. How could you hear from 100 metres away nestled in the grammer crowd beside the bloke blowing the horn . The fingers were in front of everyone, kids parents and teachers.it stunned everyone. The events i am talking about happened after the game apparently when his parents were with him. Thats what is reported on this forum. The sportsmanship I saw was Nudgee creating a tunnel for Grammer in front of the away crowd. On the Nudgee side of the field all we saw was Sam Greens finger

So you think Nudgee was flawless and did nothing to provoke the finger?

Maybe Sam Greene is just fed up with the other GPS schools?
He seems to be copping alot of hate from pretty much every school (except for BGS obviously), especially ACGS and Nudgee

Was good to see the depth of Brisbane Grammar School today; really dominated each game. A 50-14 thrashing in the seconds asks the question of whether or not they would have been able to compete against the top quality schools if a few injuries were to occur...

I think Sam has recieved alot of flak from alot of GPS schools and is probably feedup with it. But this does not condone his act nor that of any Nudgee people who said something in front of his parents. It is after all a school boy game. Grammer deserved to win and to start attacking Nudgee or any other school when you win with posts that are fantasy wrecks a great victory

It could have been someone else, but I'm sure I heard Nudgee doing war cries during his kick. There were whistles from Old Boys during both kicks, I'm certain no BGS boy had a horn and blew it during a kick. It is simply fantasy if NC think they were quiet during kicks.

Then posting that it happened is not good if you are not sure.Enjoy your victory you deserve it. And if you didnt hear the horn then I suggest a hearing test tomorrow as you are the only person who didnt. On second thoughts so should i as i think it busted my eardrums

Summary of the Season:
BGS: Deserve to be the premiers, great season.
Nudgee: Tried hard but couldn't get the result at home.
TSS: Unlucky not to beat Grammar and win the premiership.
IGS: Lucky season, didn't deserve a top three finish.
TGS: Good team, strong season.
BBC: Unlucky with injury could have been better.
ACGS: Churchie are cocky shitheads and deserved to have a shit season.
GT: Bunch of Vaginas.
BSHS: Loss of Chris Sautia=loss of their whole team.

That is a perfect summary....especially the ACGS and the BSHS one

Its funny because BGS don't have many representative players...but they still won the premiership

Selectors need to realise that Nudgee isn't the only good rugby school out there...

TGS 24 BBC 16
First look at TGS this year... better team but not by much
BBC scrum dominated a Tba 8 with lots of rep players
Jonah Placid was outstanding

I was at the game and heard the nudgee boys in the grandstand chant the word MILF when greene was about to kick . No sportsmanship what so ever disgraceful

I think this argument about horns etc is ridiculous.

As an impartial spectator, I didnt hear any remarks about Greene's mother or a horn. The game is over.

Also, would the Grammar posters like TheKing, and SamoanNo8 etc stop posting here. You are really taking away from your teams victory by speaking nonsense on this forum.

On a lighter note - It was good to see someone topple the infamous NC. I though for sure 25 mins in that nudgee were going to be too strong but I was certainly mistaken. Josh Birch, Zach Laud and Matt Marsden all had fantastic games. As did Tuttle, Mafi and several other nudgee players whos names I do not know.

Congratulations to BGS - but please dont ruin the victory by posting ridiculous comments on here.

Best of luck to all teams next season.
