What happened to AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) and Timani? Injury or hooked?

Feeling a touch unpopular in this opinion just at the minute but I thought Timani was excellent in the 32min he played - looked like he was pretty dusty on the sidelines. Head knock?

Pretty sure AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) also injury-related.

I thought Timani looked strong with ball in hand. Made some big hits as well. Didn't see him miss tackles. AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) dropped a lot of pill.

Cheika claiming that Mike Harris smashed AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) in a late tackle. Anyone see it? He's not a happy camper. Hope AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) is ok.

I though Timani paid the price for the poor early lineouts. Cheika thought he had to get Chapman on the field and it had to be Timani, Douglas or Palu.

McKibbin's 2nd penalty attempt, he takes it 15m to the right of where the penalty spot is, right in front of the ref? wtf

I thought that Harris's contact was fairly innocuous but that Hooper, running next to AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper), collided with him after it, and that was more hefty and accounted for his injury.

Thought the first up bye cost the tahs, they will will be better for the run.

Hardly a smash def a late challange but the thing that really hurt AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) was the knee he got to the head from his own player as he fell to the ground

Harris took him out without the ball while AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) tried to chase, no question. It wasn't high or anything, but it was kinda dirty play (even if it happens fairly often). Just very unfortunate that after Harris put AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) on the ground he copped a kick to the back of his head. My immediate impression was that it should be a YC, but perhaps the penalty was fair. I'm sure Harris had no intent to injure, just grabbed at Cooper as he ran through.

sorry to say it but I would watch the highlanders-chiefs game anyway over this. jeez what a difference in rugby standard. That said I'm sure both these teams will be competitive this year as defense seems ok.

Tahs lost but their game attitude was 100 times better (apart from the last minute when volavola must have thought they were 8 points up). Foley didn't impress me the first 15minutes but gradually got more and more influential so that's a good sign. Carter looked fat and slow and for a heavy guy never charged into contact. Has to be replaced by Volavola next week.

Two things to enthuse about this game. It was an un-Australian derby...quite open and the intention of both sides was to attack. The additional game that Qld had last week did help them, but I also think they will improve. NSW? A lot to like there... They will get better.. Folau isn't their saviour though...he is quite good, but one man doesn't make the side.

Early days, but the quality of the games of the Australian teams so far this year leaves me with an enthusiastic optimism. The Kiwi games have been more than entertaining...passionate hard aggression with exuberant flair, skill and adventure, but the aussie games also have an flair about them. This is a new and good thing!!

The second thing, and I probably need to defer to Lindommer, but the 2010 Chapel Hill shiraz is a good rugby watching drink. Combined with slow cooked lamb (a shoulder @ 140 degrees for three hours after being marinated in verjuice, olive oil, garlic, lemons and fresh herbs ( rosemary et al) roasted over chicken stock and white wine. Throw in some kiplfer potatoes and a roasted beetroot, spinach and fetta cheese salad and it was a good and satisfying meal. The dessert was based on the tiramisu of Steven Manfredi. Perhaps a bit rich by the end of the game, but it went well with the Morris liqueur muscat.

Hey just because it was such a talking point prior to the game, did anyone get the intercept tally for the game?
Oh that's right, I did!

NSW threw 1 intercept
QLD threw zero! :)

He got charged down in his 22, if it was not by a tight 5 forward it would've been a try. Charge downs are pretty much the same as intercepts in terms of consequences.

Yeah, the Kiwis always looks magnificent in the first round but we compete with them.

Yeah the Kiwi conference rugby looks good but it's not necessarily better rugby. Sure they score lots of points but there's a team conceding all those points. It's loose and I honestly think it's less physical, the tackling is way more passive than what you see in Australian derbies and the breakdown is not as heavily contested.

Nah I'm not, he makes too many game changing mistakes. You cannot afford those in Test rugby. That's 2 in 2 games.

That would be funny if I didn't think you were serious. Definitely clutching at straws.
The charge down wasn't a game changer. If it wasn't a lock it wouldn't have been a charge down so your point about it being anyone outside the tight five is moot.
And test rugby? This is S15. Who said anything about test rugby? :-S

Folau to wing also. He is big and powerful and spent all his night trying to get on the outside of his defender by sliding round. He needs to be on the end of the line and have a more direct line at his opponent.
Trouble is a lot of it was virtually directly across field - with a hospital pass tacked on the end of some of them.

Timani was a head knock when he and Douglas tackled someone - the fox boofheads went back to it 'cos it was quite a spectacular hit. He played on and, either, knocked himself again in his next tackle or it was one of those delayed type things. He lay down after the ensuing ruck and shortly after was off.
