Very interesting to see that less than 3 got in from Waverley.
A strong rugby school they have some very talented kids, especially in the 2012 U14s and U15s.
I think its more an indication of how the school works (or doesn't work) with the squads management

Yes Reece is off to Nudgee. I understand that Tommy is still wavering on taking up the "dreadlocks" scholarship with Kings. However there are still plenty more where they came from. AND we haven't lost as many as we have in the past.

& you need the Polynesian boys & Tommy .

if there is politics in rugby especially in sydney, people who shouldnt be there will get found out in the next year or 2 :D

Does anyone know whether the games between the 4 or so Sydney JGS squads have taken place? If so, any scores, standouts etc.

There are 3 Sydney JGS squads training on Sundays at Kings, Knox and Scots facilities. All are converging at Kings tomorrow for a specific position skills day. I think that boys from the regional JGS squads may be attending as well. The 12/13 JGS program finishes in late March - if they're having inter squad games it will most likely be around then.

how do you manage the 2 year window with players between u14 and u16/17 or can this be ignored. safety issues would be significant if trials of this nature were run, the idea may be more fantasy than real

As a matter of interest Sydney East is no longer taking place at Scots.

A snout tells me that the Scots boys have been pulled out of the NGS programme as well. Apparently they are going it alone with their own in-house programme.

Have the Scots rugby powerbrokers had a lovers tiff with the ARU?

Not enough Scots boys in the Aust/NSW Opens or U16 Schoolboys?

I am told that there are still Scots boys in the JGP.
It could have something to do with the preparation of their #1 wicket: a work that seems to have taken most of this summer and, of course, will be destroyed with the first game of rugby after rain.

IIRC, the NGS and JGS programmes for Summer 2013 are approaching "graduation" and hibernation for the winter.

There has been a bit of discussion about the Sydney programmes on this thread in the early summer but not all that much of late.

I still haven't seen a consolidated list of the boys in the NSW programmes, which contrasts with the openness of 2011/2012.

I think I have seen a list of the lads in the QLD JGS programme on the Reds website.

I can't recall too much banter about the non-NSW programmes. My understanding is that JGS and NGS operates in remote outposts in WA, VIC, and ACT albeit on a smaller scale to that in NSW/QLD.

Does TAS, NT and/or SA get a guernsey? I can't recall but think there is provision there for JGS/NGS "things" to happen there.

Is everyone happy with the programme, the progress their boys have made, and the overall administration of the programme by ARU?

Just wondering if the "package" will change at all under the new ARU HPU boss, whenever that is announced.

It seems as if they may have got the balance round about right this year judging by the lack of criticism.

A number of boys seem to have disappeared from Sydney east.
1 is "concentrating" on league.
Many prioritised cricket.
I've heard of kids being added as recently as the last 4 weeks, presumably to fill some gaps and some vague unhappiness with the program in places other than the east.
In the east there has been disruption owing to Scots pulling the pin on ground supply, weather closing Moore Park and Colleagues being virtually below sea level.
I can imagine that some late cancellations of sessions have not amused illawarra parents.

sometimes not being talked about could be a bad thing posibly the case here (is it becoming a case no publicity is bad publicity). If people care so little that they aren't even arguing ?

the numbers finishing or coming back after the break may be an indicator to how this program went, might be a bit like cars using the eastern distributor or lane cove tunnel .... commercial in confidence when politically embarrassing

building some foundations where they are needed (at club level) rather than a top down may add more relevance
maybe a summer club comp so players can meet club commitments and qualify for selection for state cup teams in the school off season, This would also mean players at this level may not have to affiliate with and give credit to large village clubs once their own disappears.

or maintaining the zone competitions with the interest added of some country trips (any excuse for a road trip)

I am sure more than the one payer didn't turn up because of Harold Matt commitments, maybe the instruction to meet your other commitments though admirable and very democratic made disregarding the program easier

probably too many thoughts for one post but any way
