Charlie Faumuina back at training after his 'flu, assuming he'll come in for Moody. Kev will need a big one off the bench this week (still can't understand why Coles got hooked), then again the absence of a 3rd hooker may save him...

Coles apparently can't play 80 because of a calf strain

Don't know. Never played there. What's the difference between Suncorp and Ballymore or Concord Oval or Twickenham? If suggest plenty to be honest.

Really? I mean obviously home advantage is a thing due to a lot of factors such as travel, crowd, ref influence etc. but I just can't see how one ground in the same country can really make such a difference. What's the old saying, correlation doesn't mean causation. Just because the Wallabies have a worse record at Eden Park doesn't mean there's any substance to it. I'd rate our chances there to same as if we were playing in Hamilton or Wellington.

SA is maybe the only place where different grounds are relevant due to altitude and shitty aircraft travel.

Eh? Smith started every game he played of this years Super season at 15. Fekitoa was at 13 all bar one game where he played on the wing. Stanley started at centre that match

The 12 duties were shared between Treeby and Burleigh.

Sorry, I had some sort of coniption. Ignore my previous comment completely.

Fekitoa's first cap was as a replacement for Nonu in England 1. He got a good 20 minutes at 2nd 5 with Smith outside him.

His first start (England 3) was a forced change with Smith out, so he slotted in at 13 (Nonu was at 12). That combination was very good in the 1st half

He was selected in Bledsiloe 1 as the bench cover for 12 and 13. With Smith out he came into the starting lineup. The AB selectors see him as both, as do they with Crotty. Both bring different aspeacts to the game that compliment both Nonu and Smith.

Seriously, how old is that saying?
Has it been translated from Latin?
Love your sentiments though.

I personally have us favourites and expect us to win. Will be really disappointed if we don't. Don't buy into hoodoos at all, Eden Park is no tougher to play at than Hamilton or Wellington.

I like your confidence Qwerty, just don't go betting the mortgage on it.

I know all of the teams that play at Suncorp stadium traditionally enjoy an impressive home win ratio (as compared to their away wins). The Wallabies, Reds, Broncos and Maroons all do. I suspect it has something to do with the crowd atmosphere. The home crowd are able to impact the game more than other stadiums. Crowd reaction not only helps to give the home players that extra 1 or 2% during the game, but also helps to get at least 1 or 2% more out of the ref.

I'm also buoyed by our chances, but Romain poite worries me.

Well just on Suncorp, arguably the worst loss on Aus soil in the last 10 years was there last year.

All good Braveheart, it's been a long week (well going to be one) waiting for this next test :)

For what its worth Ben Smith did play a bit of centre during the 2012 season

To explain the depths of my idiocy, I was actually referring to Conrad. I was temporarily green/yellow colour blind. Medical experts remain baffled.

Now let's move on before I look even more like a rank amateur. ;)

Yeah, a bit more faith in the bench is probably needed.

AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) missed the cleanout on Cane at the end. Maybe if we'd had a fresh Kuridrani there he'd have made the cleanout and we'd have had an opportunity for a drop goal to win the game.

One of the current strengths is that we've got more form players on the bench than we have in recent years. We need to use them.
Did Kirindrani get on?

to the Boks? yep I agree with you that just because a stadium is hard for away teams doesn't necessarily mean a good team wont overcome that. But I believe that at Suncorp (and perhaps its the same at Eden Park) the home team usually plays their best rugby, most likely because of the atmosphere at the ground.

That means I think the All Blacks will play well on Saturday, and I think a few calls (hopefully not too many) will go against us. In any event I still think we could sneak a win.

Awesome, the best 10 was once again picked to start.
That dull gut sinking feeling with frustration is coming back all to soon.

Even Chieka doesn't play beale at 10....

Gutted for foley...

Beale is the Luckiest bloke in test rugby... dingo proved he is not a test 10.

Folks are expecting him to step up from last week, I expect him to step up from good performance in game 1 and play even better In game 2.

And if there is 3 point on offer to win this weekend take them, not attack a all blacks line and get tackled over the side line.

Hooper as a captain made some poor decisions at the back end of the game. But he is one top player to have In your team.

Can't see the wallabies winning this one. Sucks because I was so pumped for this series.
Hope the wallabies prove me wrong and foley and as much as I can't stand Phipps get a good run.

In all fairness to us Beale detractors out there, with the Wallabies history of failing to put together consecutive good performances, Beale's record was likely assisted by the fact he didn't play there regularly.

Though for what it's worth I thought he did look good at 10 at times in 2012 though.

He's not a test 10, but he doesn't have to be to do the job he is selected for, and for the Wallabies to win.

He's also played 10 the last two times we didn't lose to the All Blacks and the last time we beat a top 4 ranked test nation (England in 2012).

For someone who is "not a test 10" he's somehow fluking some pretty good results.

You forgot to mention the lions tour.

I don't know about you, but I'd rather win a game than draw one.

Beale last weekend was deep-pocket, 3 steps diagonally and pass to To'omua. The exact same as we saw in Bledisloe 3 -2012.

If he took it into contact he lost it.

He kicked poorly.

He crabbed.

I just hope E'Mac has the kahoonas to bench him at half time if he doesn't straighten up the attack.
