Yes. V good day for BBC. Managed to see some if not most of the A games from 13's up.
The 13a BBC centres (Ma'afu and Coulston) are as good as people have said on this forum. Size, balance and time made it look easy. To GT credit they took it to them in the forwards but it was goodnight when BBC spread it wide.
In 14a's score did reflect the arm wrestle. The flanker for Terrace seemed to be everywhere with at least a dozen pilfers and made the BBC backs look silly with a storming try through the middle off fly half pass. Ruan Peter replied with a great bust and cross field kick to flanker Kibble (I think) to pick up and score. Not sure why Terrace coaches called for ball to be kicked out on last play when a draw was on hand.
The first half of 15a game was tight with Gt leading 8 to 7 but then BBC put on a master class in second half squeezing the life out of GT with most of the possession and overwhelmed the opposition with 4 tries.
The 16a game BBC were in front and I only got to see the last couple of minutes. But what is it with BBC calling uncontested scrums in so many games today and even at "A" level in two games including 16's. Surely there are more than a couple of front rowers in each group. In final play GT scrambled a length of field try to clinch the game.
I believe Terrace won seconds easily and the Firsts game was a cracker and looks like it will be subject to a lot more forum discussion in next couple of days.
