I would say that there is a pretty even division of opinion on where Link stands and my impression is that it depends on whether the opinion holder believes the denials.

If a serious disciplinary matter was dealt with in June, between 2 key members of the group (and perhaps others) and the person in charge of discipline reports directly to Link, but either didn't think to mention it or dleiberatly witheld it - that's not how things should be run.
If he was told about it and has subsequently denied it, that is more serious.
Remember all of these people are in close personal contact on a daily basis for over 3 months.
Much will turn on what if any documents survive from the June affair.
The Herald seems to be gunning for anyone and everyone in this saga except for the common denominator, KB (Kurtley Beale).
I suppose it is too much to expect some balanced reporting.
Do the crew at Fairfax know something that we don't yet, and is that knowledge is driving their agenda, or are they just still operating under "Grumbles Rules" despite the person moving on some time ago?

So there is no agenda from Fairfax about how that was handled insofar as it relates to KB (Kurtley Beale) but you get the feeling that there is a campaign within Fairfax to try and join the dots back to Dublin.
You are assuming that the potential replacements could tackle better than the one dropped.

In the "good old days", crap was said at the bar and in private conversations. There was no permanent record kept of that conversation. No one felt the need to tell the world what a pr!ck someone else was, and if they did, there wasn't the means of economically doing so available to the individual. Sending out 300000 individually addressed and produced letters through the Australia Post was expensive, and time consuming.
The only ones with camera's were geeks and they waited until all 24 or 36 carefully posed photographs on the roll of film were taken before taking the roll to the chemist to get developed. You got the photos a week later. It cost money. If you were smart you got 2 for 1 photos, so you had a spare copy to give to 1 friend.

I've been reading all this for a while now and I just can't believe how many people, not necessarily on here but in other comments sections/forums, are still calling for people (assuming the ARU) to put more time into helping Beale sort out his off field issues. How much time has already been spent? Does each other player on an ARU contract get the same treatment?
I'm sorry but no matter how good a player he was a few years ago, no matter how well he played for the Tahs, he does not deserve any more special treatment. IMO he has already had more than his fair share of chances.
Yes, there are clearly some pretty major issues going on here with management as well, who knew what, when, how it was treated etc. But just because this whole Link knew/didn't know query has popped up doesn't mean that Beale did not do something completely stupid, disrespectful and outright rude to a member of management.
As for "back in the good old days" etc etc ... things like this may never have seen the light of day, but then can you imagine the past Wallabies stars, the likes of Smith, Larkham, Eales, Farr-Jones etc ever being this disrespectful?

The ARU has too much money if it can employ a friend of the coach as business manager. If the friend was qualified they'd know their job was to stay back at the office and work on the budgets not fly business class and keep starting back at our only aboriginal player. The ARU has put back the role of women in Rugby by 30 years.

If Patston was well advised she would have negotiated a payout.
Generally I think the wallaby setup has not transitioned from the amateur game very well. If you think back to the guys from the late 90s, they all publicly gave the appearance of being mature men rather than overgrown teenaged boys. They all came up during a period where getting paid was an honour rather than a birthright. I'm sure unfortunate stuff occurred then also, and the social media thing wasn't around, but it looks like there was more respect for the opportunity to compete in gold.
I think spiros article of today (fairfax) is on the money. The players in this country form self-preserving cartels within squads and seem to end up with excessive influence.
