They are the standard of any other squads forth and fifth choice 10s in a Super 15 squad

If Foley, Beale & Lance all go down you make do with player you are developing

When was that qwerty?
I know he was very frustrated with him during the Gen Blue series of games last year, and selected him on the bench only a few times all year.

Pre-season for 2013 in 2012. Cheika came in and nearly the whole squad was inherited. One spot was left and he gave it to Volavola after a trial amongst 5 others. If we ignore Folau since they approached the Waratahs and anyone would sign him, it was Cheika's first signing.

Faaaarque me dead - Will Skelton was the star of the hill session this morning if you count speed for weight.

He's extremely fit.
.

has he dropped any weight LG - because he's only been back 3 or 4 weeks and had no opportunity to address his fitness deamons prior to that.
Good luck to him - hope he proves me wrong.

He's lost it that's for sure.

He was the first one back for the EOYT Wallabies though Beale was back early too. As I mentioned a couple of times - the trainers flogged Will.

I'll do a blog later and try to put a photo of him in in it if I have any decent ones of him - I'm a crap photographer.

They also have a trial hit-out planned against three Sydney clubs on 31 Jan.

There will be three x 30 minute sessions against Randwick, Sydney Uni and Parramatta.

It's not official yet because the venue has to be arranged.

Sorry - I misunderstood the question before—the NSW Under 20s are called the Gen Blue Colts.

I don't even know that there is such a thing as a competition between the Super Rugby B-teams this year.

Has anybody heard mention of it? If not, I will ask on Tuesday.

If it is on I think it will be one area in which the NRC will bear fruit. I am sure that the Tahs would have looked at the four NSW teams closely and would have already assessed all of the players who are not under contract already.

The same for the Reds and their two NRC teams.

But there has been no training for Gen Blue senior team. The only fellows training with the Tahs at the moment outside the contracted players and the Under 20s are J. Stewart, M. Philip, D. Porecki and E. Folau.

If the B team games are on these four will all probably be in the Gen Blue team together with the contracted players not set aside for the next Super Rugby match.

By my rough count, and imputing injuries, they will also have to find another ten players from the NRC.

Those ten players will have a wonderful opportunity to press their claims for next year - or at least to be noted on clipboards to be looked at again in the NRC.

Not sure Izzy or Money Bill would play, given their workloads.

Anyway I'll see what's on and whether I can get there. Its about as much a pain in the arse as the SFS, as well as Friday night traffic. *sigh*

Later news.

There is a game between GenBlue (seniors) and Aus Barbarians. It's a curtain raiser to the Tahs v Chiefs trial at Campbelltown Friday 6 February and starts at 5.15.

The main game is on at 7.30pm.

I don't know whether this is a Gen Blue warm-up game for a B team tournament, or a one off.

Tahs were out running hills in Coogee this morning. Must agree with Lee they look in great shape, although compared with a subbies team trying to do the same thing it's little surprise.

Yes, I went out to the cricket yesterday and got there about 11.30am and the boys were training hard on their traning field in the car park and really getting into it (and it was HOT). Stayed and watched for about half and hour until the gates opened at the SCG.

As Darth Vader would say, "Impressive, most impressive".:)
