I could possibly play 10 at a pinch Sully. I'm a bit slow and a pretty poor defender but so long as we only play right to left my pass shouldn't be a drama.
Seriously though, the one shining light and beacon of hope to come out of the game against the Brumbies is the clear impact the NRC has had in only one season.
Guys like Kuridrani, Kerevi, Taulagi, Kotze all played well and none looked out of their depth despite playing in a team that clearly was out of its depth.
Australian Rugby is looking good.

There is a massive number of quality players unavailable.

Could the current Reds Team Rehab beat the Reds Survivors if Team Rehab were fit? Probably.

After the Lions tour, many were saying "never again" for JOC (James O'Connor) at 10, but it looks like BieberBoy will do a Bradbury and get the #10 guernsey by a process of elimination.

Is JOC (James O'Connor) fully fit, and has he spent any time at 10 during training to date?

Time for Billy Moore's QUEENSLANDER call.

Not a Reds supporter but I think Hunt's display was not the disaster everyone is saying it was. Not too many 10's in the history of world rugby looked good when the pack was getting so badly dished up. The idea that JOC (James O'Connor) would be a quantum leap better is laughable, as his Lions displays revealed.

Time for Reds fans to realise that Hunt is the best 10 you have until Cooper gets back and leave him there. The fundamental problem against the Brumbies was twofold: The Reds kept people out of the breakdown while the Brumbies flooded them and the forwards were totally ineffective. The first is a gameplan issue; did the coaching staff never see a Brumbies game in the last two years? They did what they always do. The second is an even bigger problem; the whole Reds pack is playing under false pretenses - they have absolutely no physical prescence in the game. Every Brumby forward outplayed his QLD counterpart up until the Smith's got on. That's a serious worry. Horwill might have played dumb but he had seven mates who didn't turn up either.

Meanwhile in the GaGR Team of the Week on the front page, some guy called Mike Harris got the 10 jersey.
I knew losing him would come back to bite us. I had no idea it would be before round 2.

The key this week will be getting something on the front foot. Whoever is at 10 will be absolutely caned by that rushing Force defence if they aren't being pressured to get onside. Scrum will be a real test, as will line out defence of the excellent Force driving maul. And if Special K moved to 15 he'll have to work hard on his positioning because the Force kicking game was also excellent.
Going to have plenty to do at training!

Harris played very well just thought To'omua edged him. I would love Harris back in Red. Letting him and Lucas go with the backup 10 options left was crazy.

I think any backup 10 at the Reds has a tough gig. They are perpetually compared to Quade, and then Quade gets injured injured enough for them to get shown up as not quite his standard.

The backup gig sort of only suits an up and comer.

We don't know the player O'Connor is now. The Lions tour was an age ago. We have some idea of Hunts game but he has had even longer off rugby. Both are a work in progress.

We got to be on our game. The Force are a good technical side and they will cane use if we don't match up. How are we looking on the injury front?

Losing both Harris and Lucas was not great but it probably was necessary to fit in Hunt and JOC (James O'Connor) under the salary cap.

Too early to speculate on whether it was a good call but ask me in 5 games time and I'll have a (no doubt strongly worded) answer.

If JJ is crocked but JOC (James O'Connor) back that gives us pretty much a like for like skill set replacement plus oodles more nous and experience at the back if we want, but I agree that JOC (James O'Connor) would serve the team better at 10 for the moment for two reasons
1. He's played more rugby (there and in general) than Hunt and therefore is likely to have a better idea what to do (or direct the team to do) in attack if it becomes scrappy and directionless (very likely).
2. He is probably (not certain yet) a greater running threat which may check the Force inside defenders and open a extra yard or space or split second for less experienced but explosive players outside him.

screw the backs.... how are the Reds going to fix the forwards...

McDuling and Thomson into the starting lineup should improve things

Just pissed off with reading the score of games I haven't seen yet.

Apparently Royal Kituro thrashed Sognies 356 - 3, which makes the Reds loss look pretty go.... ahhhhh my bad!!

He was not up to NRC level last year, give him a year or two in grade then maybe give him a go.
Getting a run now might be the end of him.

Agreed. remember what happened to Murphy from Brother's club who was having a particularly good Premier's season and got boosted up into the No 10 for Reds owing to a mass of injuries in the position ( 2012 or 2103, can't remember) - he totally underperformed, poor bastard.
Was probably his undoing.

Possibility of 100-300mm rain in SEQld Friday - Sunday.

For starters, that stuffs up the cricket for Troy ( re: post #20).
So this looks like its going to be a piggies game in the wet. Lots of scrummaging with the slippery pill put downs, and a No 10 doing the 10 man rugby thing. maybe Hunt stays at 10 for Reds for his kicking ability coming from that other code., and reverts to No 15 position in defence to receive the high ball.

Not all bad - at least I'll get to the game ...
