Good work Rebs !! they only seem to win at home when i can not get to the game ,, might sell tickets !! Luke Jones seemed cranky , played very well , Jordy Reid a powerhouse who made the difference in a lot of collisions , must start regularly i reckon , also Tomani ( sp? )seems to lost his way a bit , i think i would start Caderyn Neville and bring on Tomani as an impact player ,, any news on Mcmahon ? he seems to be leading the pack who are responding well ,Rebels seems to have learnt how to apply defensive pressure and it works for them , oh and the backs were there and played ok

Jones, Reid, and Timani had enormous games. McMahon was well on his way before his injury too. Stirzaker is comfortably the second best scrumhalf in the country at the moment.
I've given this team a lot of shit but they're proving me wrong and I couldn't be happier.

ruck was noticeably different to Canes/Cantabs game, they hardly even bother to have a crack there,especially the cantabs, Rebs on other hand just did not give Chiefs a moments respite, maniacally contesting seemingly every possession, Timani (is he the one with the afro) a constant pest who had to be gahfuck there he is again
Oh jeez my head hurts this morning, but so worth it. Bloody happy with that win. Another milestone checked off the list: we've defeated all Kiwi teams now - nice.
We had a good rub of the ol' green last night. selective video replays did help us, but didn't decide the game. Our defence held strong under immense pressure (mainly in the second half), scrums were beautiful to watch and PAT LOVE HIM TO BITS DIDN'T STUFF UP ONE LINEOUT...that I saw. Jordy had probably his best game in Rebels colours, stirzaker was again good and very impressed with Jones.
I hope Cheika played close attention to Toby Smith last night. He was great in the scrums against that 140kg behemoth and had some good runs around the park. The Wallabies need props who can hold themselves against massive NH team and I reckon Toby is your man. All depends if Sio comes back form injury I guess, but might be handy as the fifth prop?

Never seen him play a Cheifs, Rebels or Rising game at tighthead. Might have played a game or two there for Waikato though.
Never seen him pack at TH, but that doesn't necessarily mean he can't. I thought Sio was being converted to a TH anyway, don't know what happened to that.
Also trying to think of the contenders who can comfortably on both sides effectively.

I think the Sio conversion stopped with his injury/link's departure, I can't see it being a viable option at the world cup. As far as the options go for both sides Alexander and Faulkner look the most likely, neither is ideal but choosing a player who plays tighthead but can shift to loosehead seems the best bet.

Posters during the game were really going off at the officials and yet, while there were occasional 50-50's and a couple of genuine mistakes, I thought the refereeing was basically neutral. They didn't even refer the Rebels maul try but as everyone got up, there was the ball planted firmly on the dirt. Swings and roundabouts.
I hope McMahon's only out a couple of weeks. Usually when there is that much pain its not an AC, so hopefully he'll be back to keep the backrowers up to the mark pre-WC. What was absolutely legendary was him trying to get back onside so he could defend when he was only on one leg and obviously in excruciating pain. He might lack a few kilo's but he doesn't lack a gram of courage and commitment.
I thought Smith was excellent, Leafa threw STRAIGHT - I didn't think he could. Jones and Timani were sensational, though I still think Jones is a 6. Now McMahon is out for a few weeks I would move Jones back and bring Neville in to starting lock. Reid needs a contract, he has been sensational the last two weeks.
Chiefs had a poor first half but responded well after oranges and the game was as with the score - very even. They needed to start Damien McKenzie. He might be young but he's the next classic Carter-style 10 coming off the NZ production line. Only the Blues don't have a top class 10 and look where they are on the ladder.
Debreczeni is our first SA type 10 since Brock James and will develop classic Aussie-10 skills over time. He's shown flashes of them already, just needs a good mentor/coach.
