Is anyone surprised that all 5 boys named in extended Aussie under 18 sevens squad are in GPS 1.?
B&G - Pat Carrigan named in GPS 1 as 5. Was he at GT last year?.
Darcy Swain named at 4 but I have not seen him play since he got back from Japan.
Selectors showing great faith.
There were 8 boys named in the youth sevens squad, Verevis, Ngamanu, Hewat, Moseley, McNamara, Riley, Edwards & Setu (completed school last year). So which 5 are they?

.

Yes he was (grade 11), he missed first half the season with a bad ankle injury and probably never got back to full fitness, is a League rep player, 2015 College Captain and has been at GT for a while.

Yeah I heard 9 is BGS too . Whoa. But good luck to the kid

Cam Halliday has been on fire lately. His performances in the last few trials have been nothing short of outstanding. Very good agility and can read gaps in the field very well. I've heard that he's being coached personally by BGS old boy and Reds squad member Sam Greene down at Brothers rugby club on the odd afternoon after school. Glad to see all his training is paying off. Halliday will be instrumental in developing structure in the Light Dark Blue back line this year.

wow that is a mobile forward pack.
what the selectors would give for Jaydn Sua. i see he is in the State of Origin under 18 team and is the run on team for Broncos undeb 20 most weeks . that is extraordinary . a 17 year old ( 18 this year )playing massive 20 year old professional athletes. incredible

do not under estimate Acgs this year nor TGS
as WW and others said this could be the closest comp in years

In relation to the comp being stronger in NSW than Qld I can pretty well assure you there are a lot less leaguies playing in the GPS system in NSW compared to Qld. There are loads of schools probably more in numbers than the GPS system who have RL excellence programs and are linked to NRL clubs. Also there is a large % of leaguies that play Qld GPS don't represent GPS 1 in games as the schools generally make them choose either code for rep not both. This is why I would love to see Qld best school play NSW best school. My bet is Qld win hands down........

What's the go with Calvin Pritchard this year?

Injured, uninterested or have others just gone past him?

When Liam Richman is being picked ahead of him as a centre you'd have to think something is going on......

Very surprised no one has made a point of mentioning exactly who the 15 for BSHS 13A's is... If what Im told is correct its QC (Quade Cooper) brother, that being said its a little wonder people are already rating him...

100% correct about PC being at GT for a number of years now. He is actually in the Melbourne Storm elite development squad. On top of all that he is also one of the nicest and most respectful young men I've had the privilege of knowing.

Totally agree with you 100% in relation to the late developers catching up. These big boppers generally dominate from about 13's-16's. Once the other boys catch up they usually overtake due to their work ethic which the others lack as they have had it so easy for years.........The biggest thing is we as parents/coaches/influential people to these young boys is to make sure they stick at it rather than throwing in the towel. I personally know of scouts for NRL teams and they openly say what type of forwards they are looking for long term and I will just leave it at that..... Im sure you get my drift!!!!!!!

I have no doubt your right, just wanted to put it out there for those who weren't aware. As we all know its a lot easier playing football behind a pack that are dominating. TBH I don't rate QC (Quade Cooper) anywhere near as highly as plenty of others do, great at times but his best and worst are miles apart IMO.

Yep sua has played every game for broncs this year and been one of their best forwards I am told. I thought he was trialling for schoolboys in GPS, but word is he wanted to but was advised against it and is focusing on churchie union. Would have loved to see him in Qld side for rugby schoolboys. I feel for prichard, he has worked hard this off season.

How many brothers does QC (Quade Cooper) have? One in the BSHS 16a who got torn apart by his opposite on the weekend when both A teams opposed each other in the second third.
