I think Palu gets a bad wrap because when the wallabies' forward pack gets dominated, he's the first one to cop the blame from the fans. The truth is its rarely Palu's fault that we don't front up physically. I think people just expect him to make more of a difference.

Carter's total persona, not just his ugly face, was what most of us would have liked to thump.


Say what you like about Barnes, he had talent, and he was not petulant, unlike Tummy Carthorse.

Plenty at stake I think. Whoever performs better out of Horne V Tomane could go a long way in deciding a wing spot - it's likely one might miss out for the other.

Also I don't think anyone has mentioned Lilo as a realistic option for 10. A standout performance could certainly change that IMO.

AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) might even nob over the fairly quiet Kuridrani for 13.

Tomane (if he keeps up what he did last weekend he'll be a massive chance)

Tom Carter was the epitome of a player of limited talents succeeding through effort and attitude.

If the Wallabies from 1-22 matched Carter's attitude, work rate and consistent effort each match. They would be a far, far better side.

AS much as I disliked Carter as a player, I'd go along with that. Didn't have the appearance of possessing a lot of ability but he made up for it in sheer desire.

I always saw it likely that Tomane would be on the left wing and Horne on the right, especially with Speight now missing 5 weeks it seems more likely they both start. The back row is so hard to figure out because Skelton needs to be starting so we need 2 jumpers in the backrow. Is Poey a lineout option?

And desire is what gets players to chase kicks, get off the their arses and back in the defensive line and the rest of those 1%'s

I agree with a lot of what you say. But unfortunately attitude generally develops in those lacking talent.

That is probably the most likelu wing option although Chieka may decide to go with JOC (James O'Connor) or Mitchell if he prefers the hybrid fullback type of winger. I actually would prefer that but I doubt Cheika will.

Pocock is used by the Brumbies as a jumping option but not sure that is going to cut it at Test level. We need 3 genuine jumpers.

Pocock like so many other players that have a big impact is used as an uncontested option. You can only have one uncontested option but in a pack of Slipper, Moore, Kepu, Simmons, Skelton, Fardy, Pocock, Palu you would have 3.
