Next year will be another waste as they're telling RG to make the finals or he'll get the sack. The Reds don't even have the cattle to make the finals with a good coach let alone RG. Their focus should be to get back to playing good rugby and temper their expectations.

Any word on Beau Robinson? I Assume he's departing with the Reds signing Gunn. With McCutchon and Hoiles leaving the Tahs and Doyle leaving the Brumbies I think he'd be a handy pick up for either.

Or maybe the Rebels are in the market for another openside.

The HC role choice is rubbish. Particularly when reports suggest the Reds sought some (lots) of candidants. I spoke to one of those supposedly in the top 3 or 4 and he never was approached for an interview for the role. RG , it seems was always the preferred option.

Gill's public comments are fantastic and just that - public comments. Players don't respect Graham and he lost them 2 years ago. I do however congratulate him on those comments.

The players are professional. They will do as they always do put their best foot forward for Qld rugby.

I reckon the real coaches of this team will be the senior players - Slipper Simmons Holmes and Gill. Expect a lot of forward play this year as we have fuck all in the backs

What do you mean Scrubber? Graham brought in the excellent back line move last you of, 'get the ball to one of the islander boys whose last name starts with K'. Worked a treat at times!

I thought the backline move was to pass it to the next guy who then passed it to the next guy who then passed it to the next guy who then dropped it.

Beau has gone to NSW to play NRC for NSW Country Eagles so assume that he wasn't in the mix for Qld at all and is looking for an overseas contract - not a lot of openings for opensides in Aus Super Rugby teams at the moment - Hooper at Tahs, Pocock at Brums, Hodgson at Force, and as you mentioned the Rebels have about 10 players in the position... Given he hasn't played much this year I'd say he is trying to get some match fitness and push his case for a contract in Europe or Japan. Who knows, the Japanese Super Rugby team next year might need an openside.

My email to the Reds to cancel my membership has received a reply. Apparently I need to somehow formally request cancellation of my monthly payment plan. It seems I have one of these now, where as I never had such a monthly payment plan before. So they have informed me they will now be charging me monthly for something I don't want. Number of emails sent to them now counts as 3. I wonder what I will have to do to try and no longer be a Reds member.

Generally Parse, not only with the QRU, these 'auto renewal ' type subscriptions aim to make the process of cancelling as cumbersome as possible and force us the customer to be very pro-active and definite in cancelling them.

There's a remarkable number of people that are lethargic, just forget, or are too busy to cancel the auto renewal so these factors make for a lot of easy, passively obtained, next year Member sales - which is what the whole system is designed to do.

I seem to remember there was a box that you ticked on your membership form if you didn't want it to automatically renew..
Like RH said, it's designed so that lazy people(like me) just automatically renew, but it wasn't exactly hidden in the fine print it was quite an obvious option.

Yeah Scrubber, you're right, Gill had to say what he had to say, in these circumstances; I mean, what else could he say?

But to me it was pointed that he notably empathised with fans' disillusionment over the appalling w-l% outcomes and also said 'we the players will be driving this forward in 2016'. I think we can decode that, can't we?
