Was hoping Hodge would get a start for the Wallabies this weekend, series over and pride battered it would have been a good chance to take a risk on a young up and coming player.
Me too, but even though the series has been won (or lost in our case), there is still a lot to play for - pride, the up-coming Rugby Championship and to break Eddie's winning streak.

At a minimum I would expect complementary Lager all night, with a few trays of bacon.

My understanding is Lakeside is not big enough for Rugby. The in-goal would be too dangerous. It's why we didn't play NRC there.

I don't think it's an issue with the pitch size, I think it's the current tenants not wanting Rugby destroying the ground in the middle of there season.

You know they could always just shorten the ground? As long as the 10m lines are still 10m from the halfway and the 22m lines are still 22m from the tryline then you have a field. There is no minimum length IIRC. The in goal is "preferably not less than 10 metres" but it doesn't say it can't be.

Lakeside is not an option due to short in-goals.

I believe Geelong is looming as the most likely at this point in time...

OMG Boxhill here we come
This sort of untimatum is overdue IMHO. It should not have taken the international embarrassment of a wallabies match to cause this action. It should have happened after the second home game. I could not even cheer shipperly's try when Julian Savea tripped in the broken turf.

On a side note. Did anybody else notice that the turf only dug up on the wallabies side on the weekend. I thought we were unlucky to be on an unpatchrd part at first but it kept happening

Seems a plausible option, and they have expense down there. You would think they would comp fans for the trouble of going down to Geelong, perhaps with free transport. Thank god it's a Saturday match.

Then again, AAMI park trust might get their collective shit together in time and do what they should have done 4 months ago. Nothing like the threat of lost revenue to spur some action.

Strangely, the two soccer clubs and the storm have been oddly silent throughout this. Wonde if they have an opinion on this.

I'd say Victory, City and Storm don't have the same issues so have kept quiet, though I thought they may have had issues with how Rugby has dug up the pitch. I blame Bruce Springsteen. It has never been the same since his concerts.

The curators managed to relay the Allianz turf in two weeks earlier this year after similar (but not nearly as bad) problems in the first few rounds. The Bulls match was played on the new surface with no torn up patches after scrums. It can be done.

With Storm playing at AAMI this Sunday, it doesn't give them much time to do much to fix it.
