I'm here lurking in the shadows RM2, just observing the run of play and waiting for the inevitable run of Joeys bullishness which has been strangely absent to date.

I wonder if the sounds of silence are nothing more than an early indication of cerise and blue capitulation?

Sounds of silence? Dream on blue one.

While you have been preening the knitted tie and polishing the RMs, and sprinkling the dust on the Q7, we at Team Joeys have been pulling together the Visual Arts and Drama guys at Joeys to re-enact the late great Queen number to provide pre match entertainment:

Can't tell you the trouble we had with finding the false teeth, having the school barber whip up some mullets and luckily Brother Boyd had his star sunnies lying around from the 70s (for real).

Meanwhile the boys have been eating raw meat and listening to ACDC and Metallica pump up music (not sure about the backs though)...

You bring meat eaters, so we bring man eating meat eaters.

Introducing some of this weekend's selections in the Kings forward pack....Buon Appetite!!!

One of the few threads where most of us don't take ourselves too seriously. We are talking about kids footy here, not trying to solve the problems of the universe.

Gentlemen/gentle women/ gentle people or whatever I need to say to keep everyone happy, I have thrown in a comment in response to another GPS persons comment in the 16 year old tag. It relates to updating all the A Age group results each week, aside from just the opens, which I think would be fantastic each week.I also added that after the completion of each age group GPS and CAS comp wouldn't it be fantastic to have the wining side of each comp play each for each age group. It would take 1 day, like a normal school round. This has been touted for many many years, and if "promoted" properly I think would have a TREMENDOUS crowd turnout, and monies raised could go to the children's hospital , for example.
P.S. These days the GPS and CAS both only really have 6 teams in each comp.
Here is a start to creating some media, enjoyment, everyone wins stuff to help promote junior rugby, I entered this forum with that theme and was fairly instructed to read the "decline of junior rugby " tag, which I have done.
Ok giddy up, lets get some ideas and INFORM the ARU etc and get some action!

@WLF interesting concept but I dont see happening.

All the schools seem at One that there is No official competition games other than the 1st, 2nd and 3rds. No other age group or team plays in a competition. They just have matches, with other schools. (At least in the GPS world)

To have a best U13A GPS play Best U13A CAS might have some interest to the spectators , but little interest at the Heads of school who would have to sanction it.

Think if changes in he wind eventuate then there will be many more games between the 2 associations.

Finally got the full [45mins] highlights of round 3's Kings v Joeys 1stXV clash uploaded, very close game for those that don't remember it/didn't see it. Methinks Joeys will want to win the return game this saturday more than ever.

I've never understood the reticence of both the AAGPS and CAS to recognise the the sub opens comps. IMO it's part obstinance, part tradition, part self interest. If you are holding a competition between teams then why would you deny the best team recognition of their superiority in the form of premiership trophy?

Alas that's not the way it is in the AAGPS world or CAS and frankly I can't see it being easily changed for all the reasons I mention above. Unfortunately agitating with the ARU, heads of schools etc would be an excercise in self flaggelation.
