I think a Wallaby backrow with BOTH Timani and McMahon (as well as Poey or Hooper) could function, considering they can both jump reasonably well.

Timani has height but no experience. Could very well work in the future but would struggle now. McMahon is under-rated in the line-out IMO but still doesn't have the reach of a Fardy/Mumm.

He jumps, but he's not often called. He's slow off the deck but sturdy in the air with decent transfer.

I've seen him jump at 2 in the NRC and as 5th man in the lineout on a 7-man for the Rebels. The role that generally 8s play (a tall strong lifter lifting your key jumper/caller but can jump on occasion himself).

Against the ABs, with 3 good jumpers and one decent, we might go sort of OK. With 2 jumpers and a couple of maybes, we've seen how that works before. Playing Timani and McMahon might work against some teams. The ABs are not one of them. Yet. I'm sure Timani and McMahon could be quite useful at some stage.

i know this wont be the team, but its what i would pick. Cheika seems obsessed with 6/2 benches but i wouldnt mind seeing how a classic 5/3 would go. i would go for Simmo as my preference at 2nd row because i dont think Arnold or Douglas have looked any better and i still have the idea (probably erroneous) that Simmons is the best at lineout time. but i dont really care. i wouldnt mind some Continuity so whoever he picks to partner Coleman needs to keep the position for a while.

Only two half backs in the squad. Can be certain then that Phipps will start and Frisby will be on the bench.

Why is Will Skelton back in the squad. His form this year has been well below par, and though maybe improved in the last NRC game, a test match is a long way above NRC.

I don't think Poey should be considered for this test, unless of course he is available for the EOYT which I'm not too sure about. If it will be his last outing this year for the Wallabies, then I'd rather not include him. In any case, I firmly believe the combination of Hooper at 7 with Timani at 8 was more productive and I'd give them every opportunity to cement their spots together at this stage.

Don't panic Skelton haters, there are 31 players in the squad and I reckon he's cheika's pet project. He wants 2014 Skelton back and with test capabilities to boot, so he's a work in progress. Cheika knows what he can offer and he is trying to extract it from the big unit. He did the right thing by sending back to the NRC to work on his game, now the Rams are out he's bringing him back into the fold. It probably means he is going on the EOYT too.

I firmly believe Hooper and Pocock would have been just as effective against Argentina, probably more effective

I was going to suggest half tongue in cheek that considering the statistical likelihood of winning is next to impossible, no matter what team we trot out, we might as well go into the game with the possibility of a positive outcome. I was going to advocate squeezing Skelton, Palu and Timani into The starting side, maybe Naiyaravoro too and send them flying into anyone game to go into a ruck, arms slightly optional and do some hurt. Send timani out to take out Barrett either late or offside. Its for the good of world rugby really and if you think its bad sportsman ship just remember what Dagg said in response to Franks obvious eye gouge, "it ain't tiddlywinks."

Injuring their player won't work with the depth they have. Barrett goes down insert sopaga who is still better then our flyhalves :(

I don't condone injuring players, just hurting them. ;) and yes you're right but Barrett is still a class above just about every rugby player on the earth atm.
