I understand from a kid who was at school with him that he broke his neck. I think he is okay from a life point of view, but don't know if he'll play rugby again.

What a shame for such a decent young man. Hope he stays well and there are no complications. Having to give up Rugby will be hard, but looking after his health is the priority.

Has a replacement been announced? Reckon there's room in the squad for Drew? I've heard he's off to the Brumbies or Tahs.

I didn't actually realise the NSW was an addition. I had to go and check an old jersey. I like the new one.

To be honest I'd prefer if most teams were called by their state, city or region of origin rather then some of the gimmicky names created.

It would reinforce the global nature of Super Rugby and make it easier for the casual supporter.. even most Australian Rugby supporters wouldn't be able to tell you which region each the South African teams are form..

Still have the team mascots and nicknames, but make the primary focus on the 'New South Wales'/'Queensland' aspect of the name instead.

Of all the silly ideas in sport, introducing a new competition with new names is right up there.

Even now, how many rugby tragics could name all the Seffa franchises, and their geographical footprint?

And allowing Auckland to call themselves the "Blues" is THE worst ever naming decision in the history of sport.

We seriously expect new viewers to understand what is going on, when the "Blues" (not wearing blue) play the Waratahs (wearing blue, and representing a State whose other teams wear blue) at the SFS.

I mean. Words fail me.

Do the Tahs technically represent all of NSW? I thought the southern NSW rugby comps were aligned with Brumbies.

Perhaps if they were being totally accurate it would be the 'North Shore and Eastern Suburbs Warstahs'

NSW rugby and the Warartahs, previously two completely different organisations, have been merged into one under Andrew Hore's leadership. As I understand it all NSW clubs will now have the right to wear the NSW emblem underneath their own club emblem. That's certainly what happened with the Mudgee Wombats after last weekend. The idea is to grow the Tahs identity as the NSW team, as the used to be in pre professionalism days.

Jim Stewart broke his neck in the Shute Sheild grand final and was told he will never play again. A real shame as he was a very talented youngster.

Who to play 8 for the first few rounds? Wells? Dempsey with Hanigan at 6?
