Reading the comments on the thread (and having seen the CASvGPS game) the Pavlakis decision was interesting.

I can only assume that various selectors think he is too small for the higher tiers.
Despite this he seemingly was a weapon for CS. Hopefully he sticks with rugby and continues to grow - he certainly has some acceleration and evasisiveness.
Agreed. The selectors only need to sit down to a Damian McKenzie (Chiefs) highlights package to disavow themselves of the view that you have to be large to be effective.

Anyone prepared to offer a prediction on the score of Waves v Barker? Does Waves have any injuries likely to last to 22nd?
I know this is premature but getting bored in here...will start breakin' the furniture soon......any comments welcome...

They sustained a few injuries over the previous week but hopefully the boys will be back. I'm predicting a blowout in favour of Waverley. They are in amazing form and have great depth to backup for their injuries. Waves to win by 20+

I think odds on for Waves but Barker will put up a huge fight on home ground. Not sure there will be 20 in it. I think Barker should be full strength.

I think Barker if it can somehow keep the ball in the forwards away from from Bell/Donaldson/Hardaker then its odds may improve assuming Wright and Moretti are tired and possibly tender from the Schoolboys. Use the Barker size to hard ruck and maul. Set pieces will still be a problem.

I would have selected Longville at 15 before last week but not sure now. Pavlakis can do everything Longville did but can kick goals as well.

Id have to find a spot for Moretti, Swinton and Rasch.
Armstrong would be my choice at 13.
Joe Williams was very good but would have to favour Hardaker at 12 for his flair and brilliance.
Mohi is a shoe in at 11. Too fast and a match winner. Not sure between Lloyd and Diamond. Lloyd is quicker Diamond stronger.

Donaldson is the best 10 and would favour Jordan as 9 because of his running game and strength.

Kemeny Stead and Basson are good but Moretti is better imo and still in Year 11

I saw Moretti last year at Death Valley and on the video streaming but not live this year. He is a good player but did not create the impression that say Finn Wright did when he carved up last year. But I reserve my view after seeing him live in a couple of weeks. The contest in the rucks will be interesting then.

I heard on Saturday that Moretti has an AC injury that will see him out for 3-6 weeks. If correct, a glimmer of hope for Barker if they can win the lions share of possession.

I hope Moretti is OK. What a pity it would have been awesome to see an Aussie schoolboy in play. Let's hope whatever it is repairs quickly. Normally an AC can take a player out for months like it ended Matthew Coghill for this year. Hopefully it is not as serious.

Coghill did his ACL, not his AC
