The video was cheaper than a State High Scholarship, to quote a comment. I feel as if the video had nothing to do with the performance and that every nudgee player left everything on the field, but with a tight five half the size of TSS, they just got outmuscled. Fair play to both teams.

Still....it added motivation to the TSS side, Nudgee defence was good but TSS scrum UNBELIEVABLE

I unearthed a great stat before the game today.

Nudgee's front row weighed in at 294 kg, which is totally respectable for a Schoolboy side.

For perspective, the All Blacks front row (Laulala, Coles, Moody) weighs 338 kg.

The Wallabies front row (Ala'alatoa, Moore, Sio) weighs 347 kg.

The Southport front row weighs 354 kg. They have 16 kilos on the ABs, 7 on the Wallabies, and a whopping 61 kilograms on Nudgee.

Anything less than a scrummaging slaughter would have been embarrassing!

BBC 31 -14 over ACGS
Forwards too big and strong
Scrappy match

Top effort by ACGS yesterday, totally outsized and they manned up and gave it a real crack. But BBC front row too big, strong and determined they got through a lot of work indeed as did Xavier T who is getting more involved by the week. Hosea toiled away but did not have the impact of previous weeks.

We could dream that ACGS will beat TSS and BSHS beat NC next week but that's highly unlikely plus GT will be a tough match in its own right for BBC.

How well have BGS performed this year for there roster.

1stXV BBC Trys v ACGS - Short Version (1:09min)

Will be some nice depth at BBC next year. Great to have a fly half like the current BBC 1st XV player (who is grade 11 I think?)and then have a player like the U15 fly-half who also looks like a very good player. Not to mention some of the other backs and forwards in this team who might be playing for 1st XV spots next year.

Question, how many of the current BBC 1st XV are likely to return next year? And how are the BBC U16s going this year?
Thanks

You mean from the 1st choice team team that started in round 1 or the team that played yesterday-?they have not had the same team for a single game(yesterday they had 2 Aussie reps out).
Just watch them play & you will know there is only 1 forward back and he whole backline except for 9 & 13 back.(and they are both up the 2nds )

TSS v Nudgee was a cracker. TSS played to there strengths and in the end wore Nudgee down. Great day at southport. Just trying to get information on the Nudgee captain Hunt. Any relation to the other hunts. He arrived last year from where? Curious.

Congrats to TSS . Good win & they have had a great run with injuries .NC have done well without Xavier Soli( their main strike weapon) and Ford >The young replacements stood up.
As have BBC (who I picked to lose yesterday)who had 2 Aussie schools players(Nganamu/Kibble) out and 1st choice 9,13 and 14 out as well.I think TSS/NC will share premiership and GT backs will be too fast for BBC..

But what is really concerning me for next year is the TSS 16As are undefeated.

Yeah TSS figure to go back to back .

Their 15's however haven't won a game this year and play Churchie ( also without a win )

I'm sure all the more obvious contending 2018 teams will be stocking up their 16's and looking to close out offers over the next month or so

Nudgee at High will be pretty interesting across a number of age groups

As I understand it - if High win ( entirely possible ) than TSS wins outright assuming they beat Churchie ( highly likely )

Nudgee should do High in the 16's pretty easily

The 15's is anyone's game but I probably give the edge to High if they have their full team available

14's to Nudgee comfortably

13's to High comfortably

With only one round to go I think things are starting to look very interesting for next year. As I predicted at the start of the year TGS have finished the GPS season with only 2 wins which books them a seat somewhere at the back of the bus.
Going forward there have been 4 and up to 6 grade 11's (only two are 17 the rest 16) start in every game for TGS. The 16a's have finished the season with 5 wins which should put them outright or equal third depending on this coming weekend. Also the 16b's I think have taken out there premiership or if not very close. One of the problems TGS have had this year is there game plan requires big boopers in the front row for it to come off well which is what they have lacked this year, next year this won't be a problem assuming they will be too pighead to change game plan.
Also TGS will have a lot of talent available to them in the backs next year to the point I believe they could put two back lines together that would be competitive in first's. There looks as though there could be some reasonable depth in the forwards as well. There are a couple of the new imported backs from this year that if moved into forwards because of there size and speed (there is plenty of depth there to cover them) could make TGS's forward pack very interesting (big and fast).
TGS are very dedicated to their game plan which was their undoing this year instead of adjusting the game plan to suit the players they had. Also I believe they under utilize their backs as well but this is a product of the way they want to play.
"If" they go forward next year with the right approach I think they could be a force to reckon with.
