How'd that go?

Well the TAB was obviously closed when I decided that tonight but I'll stand by it going forward! Seriously, you would have to agree that was a great win made all the more impressive given our 10 was his usual disastrous self.

Given this result and how painfully close we were in Dunedin - what do you make of the game 1 result? Do you put it down to players defending out of position or is it a psychological barrier?

There was a fair discussion about that first half and that Grey had tried to over complicate the defensive strategy. Simplifying it seems to have worked. Now only Beale and hodge switch which is fine.

We can't put out our number one team next week. It would be silly

Seriously KOB what how would you rate Foley out of 10 tonight. It's not a time for negativity - was a great win and we need to celebrate them but am I really seeing wrong with Foley? I honestly thought he was sub par but would you give him a pass mark? I couldn't go higher than a 4.

How good was that 30m bust by McMahon near the end. Finally showing that he can bosh the best and not just super teams/minnows.

Absolutely, Last year I was very critical of McMahon for this, now he's finally stepping up against the big boys! Worst part is he's bloody leaving ...worst timing :(

He was fine except for his goal kicking. The fuck up when he didn't know it had been taken back into the 22 was clearly because he didn't know it had touched one of our players and he couldn't hear the ref. He was miked up to us, not the players.

Pretty impressive turn around. After game 1 I wouldn't have thought they could make the necessary changes to fix the defensive errors but they were good tonight and in Dunedin.

Agreed, but unfortunately he is still clearly our best option. A big positive is we can still win with an average 10 playing an average game. He usually never plays worse then he did tonight so hopefully things will only get better. And hopefully they will use Hodge more for 22 clearances.... Or Beale. Or anyone but Foley.

No doubt Foley had a poor game, probably his worst of the season.

I think the good thing here is we are playing a game which isn't based around any one player succeeding or failing.

Some players really stood up and had blinders. A lot of players just did their job. A couple of players had average to poor games. I think the fact that we can beat the best team in the world with that is testament to the fact that it's a solid strategy. It lives and dies on the team and not one or two players.

I thought he turned over a lot of ball, shuffled pressure passes and didn't kick well tactically. I will admit there isn't another 10 in Oz screaming for the jumper at the moment but I truly hope the selectors don't get all sentimental when someone does put their hand up.
