Did play rugby league when he got to Australia and did play rep league until u15's finishing off for Nsw u15's but always a South African and plays rugby.
why play a natural no 8 at lock when he can play 4,5,6,7 or 8 where he deserves last 2 years he's played out of position and he hasn't been supposedly amazing yhis tournament but can't really much others from NSW 1 or 2 so show what I'm missing ?
Hewat a little small as a lock I agree but no8 or 6 more his role . But what is a super game he had 4 steals as a 8 today couple of line busts some good tackles and a significant line break to off load for qld to score a try and kept his troops in order Nsw 1 do have a big set 2nd row but not...
Just a quick thought the boys I know came on a scholarship was too improve there rugby prospects and espicially if you are from the country towns you get lost in the system but to receive top education to get the marks to go to uni.
I believe players who have played in the Qld open national side are not asked to go to JG due to fact to give up and coming boys a crack at showing there skills and then getting a chance in Qld trials and hopefully progress from there and they are having exposure to top rugby
Hewat has declined the 7's as a busy year is ahead of him I heard . To much interference with GPS comp and Nationals which I believe he is focusing on selection for the the OZ schoolboy side but still a great honour to be put into the 24 man squad
To true I am a Seth African as u put it but all good just grow up with been drummed into about scrummaging and yes the second rowers have to get themselves properly set behind there front rowers and everything is on timing in a scrum but if u have a Karl Hayman or Os Du randt it helps a lot
I agree but so the front row don't need technique it's the back 5 job to get them going forward last time I looked a decent front row sets the scene and the back 5 have to back them up but if your front rows not getting hit on with the help of the back 5 because of technique everything falls...
Well the last time I looked good technique in the
front row makes the back five job easier but I
agree they have to pull there weight to make
the front rows job easier
