^^^^^^^^^^ no idea @HJ, he seems to fallen off the radar completely, difficult as that may seem for a guy who's 20yo, 205cm & reputedly 140+kg....
Exactly what I thought when I posted the question on the Waratahs 2016 thread. Hope he hasn't completely lost his way.

^^^^^^ in similar vein, I heard during NZ v Sco that there's a 3rd Ioane brother & he's allegedly "better" than Reiko or Akira....
I heard that as well. Just like the bloody Whitelocks. I hope there isn't a third Savea.

Apparently Dad played for Samoa at RWC in 91, and Mum was a NZ Womens Rugby Team player. Good genes in the Ioane bloodline.

^^^^^^ @Pfitzy posted that he's playing club footy in Waikato but I haven't been able to confirm, nor have I seen any Waikato ITM or Development squads named.

@HJ the only way you'll know you're completely safe is when you see a Savea or Ioane with the given name "Sonny" or "Junior", indicating that Mother has decided enough is enough :) In this case Mother is Black Fern Sandra Wihongi & Dad is Eddie, Manu Samoa circa RWC 1991. I think the two older boys were born in Japan while their father was playing club footy there, hence their names: Akira = bright (as in clever), Rieko = next-born or similar.

. . and that is..?
You need to ask?

<snip> Craig had a solid game, perfect lineout throws, often first to the breakdown and lots of good cleaning out. Seems to get one or two turnovers most games.

<snip>
I saw Koutsoukis and Serhon today at Knox. Koutsoukis penalised for a crooked throw or two. He seemed good in general play throughout the game, though nothing exceptional (unless it was him that scored the forwards try near the end of the match, falling over the line from the back of a ruck?). <snip>

Josh Dowsing. NZ Schools 2013 out of New Plymouth Boys High. Currently with the University club in Hamilton (team-mate of NZ U20 captain Atunaisa Moli) & Waikato's Development XV.

Josh Dowsing seen here as Samoa Captain for the Oceania U20 tournament. Didn't seem to dominate there as much as he did against us in the big show.

Interesting that Dowsing was not wanted by the NZ U20 selectors after attending their U20 Trial Camp in early March.

Good on him for trying an alternate pathway.

On an extremely sad note,

Sincerest condolences to the NZ U20 team - and Tana Umaga (JC's cousin) who is in Italy with the team on their coaching staff, following the tragic news about Jerry Collins overnight.

Deepest sympathies with you all.

I was wrong about there being a lot of changes in the game for Italy: they have been minimal.

Just as this team is a slight change from the first game; so this team won't be changed much for the third with changes back being on the cards.

Australia U20s to play Italy:

2.Folau Fainga'a
6.Brad Wilkin
12.Duncan Paia’aua
13.Sione Tuipolotu
14.Conrad Quick

2. No surprise here but I thought LHP Pleash would get a shot as he did at Chatswood.

6. Replaces Fakaosilea, maybe Lolo got a knock but he didn't have a lot of participations, as usual, and Wilkin had to get a start in one of the games.

12. Had a grand game coming off the bench at Chtaswood but Paia'aua looks more like a runner to me than a facilitator. I hope I am wrong and the ball goes out. Placid has to be given a licence to hog but I hope we don't have too many of them do it.

13. Switched from 12 - I haven't see Sione T play 13. Magnay didn't do a lot against Samoa, not that he got the ball very often. Maybe there's an in jury but worth a try regardless.

14. Newsome is a Steady-Eddie player who won't let you down but he is not a rainmaker; so fair enough to try somebody else.

It may seem that Deegan is lucky to keep his spot but Thompson will know that his last game was an aberration—goal kicking included.
