    Qld Premier Rugby 2023

I think Will Stevens trialled for League but didn't make the cut or quit. From Memory, He was playing 3rd grade when he left Brothers. I am not sure they would be chasing him unless they have lost a lot of 1/2s.

You road on the coat tails of all the hard work recruiting in the previous years. Didn’t capitalise on the premiership as well as loosing players such as Ethan McFarland and Malaki Taulani now playing Colts 1 for other clubs. GPS Colts 1 should still be competitive. Peirce, Howse, Bannister...

GPS need to do something with their Colts program. How can you be uncompetitive with the players like Howes, Peirce, Dilman, Lucey, Bannister, Moller and Rosanowski. They would all be in the top 3 in their Position across the comp. Imagine what Dan Ritchie would do with them.

Interesting. You would think GPS and Wests with their Fijian connections. It would be great if they were all encouraged to play at Norths.

Its a combination of factors. including reliance on Marist, changing demographics in the local area. 2020 they did a lot of recruitment then COVID hit and a few boys left to play league because they were getting paid for a win and GPS were charging $400 bucks for an 8 game season. In 2021 they...

Ward is a long way off playing Colts 1 regularly. He is strong, very strong with a lot of upside. Has a lot to learn about, breakdown, ball security, especially in contact. Matt Ingram and Co will do a good job of developing him. Watching the trials UQ are much better than they were last year...

I believe Lynagh will play Colts initially and spend some time in Prems subject to peformance.

UQ is stacked? A lot of Colts from last season have left or moved up to grades. Including Sam KK, Gibson, Elekana, Kelly, Hearn etc. The last 2 seasons of Colts being U20s has shown to be successful you need a large portion of your squad to 2nd and 3rd year Colts.

To be fair he did have a season of first grade the season before. He should have played first grade all of last year but GPS wanted to win a colts premiership.

    2010 QLD Club Rugby

On saturday I wandered down to Yoku road and watched the Bulldogs v Marist Old Boys (GPS). It was a great game of Rugby with Marist showing better skills and more accuracy at the Break down. With 15 minutes to play Marist were leading 27 - 20 and in the space of 2 minutes had 2 players sin...
