re the Rats/Parra game, I don't believe the Rats used any of their bench, can someone confirm, if so, is that unusual? and, could it be seen as a good sign that the 15 starters can put in a whole 80.
Correct, I'm surprised that is allowed before the finals, I'm sure the opposition would have something to say.
edit; I've just read the full explanation on the colts thread, don't bother replying.
A squad of 23 (named above) were sent to Ballymore, but 28 are going to Canberra, next weekend, so there are 5 to be added.
My observation is, that seeing that NSW has dominated the U18 Champs
for the past two years, I expect we will do the same in the U20's.
I was more concerned about the Argentine trial game being a missed opportunity, surely the selectors have a pretty good idea of what the final team will be, even allowing for several extra reserves, it's not as if these players don't have some solid form. There is only 3 weeks before the...
The "gen blue" summary has quoted their coach, also Tim Rapp, it looks like he has also got that coaching gig as well, he may have left his school job?
Sorry Lee, bad wording, I should have said "both teams'' as there are 2 x U20 teams trialing, White & Blue.
I've been told they will play each-other, then each, have a further 40 mins against the touring Argenitian side, so 3 x 40 min games. All clear!!
Happy to be corrected, but I think it's the Waratah A's (all ages) playing on Sunday @ 3pm vs the ACT Brumby A's, and the Waratah U20's (colts, both squads) playing on Saturday, also @ 3pm vs the Argies. At TG Milner.
PS. Good to see Roach's name pop-up again after going into the record...
Both full trial teams are still together (no culling yet) They have moved the trials to T G Milner and are up against the Argentine touring team on Saturday. Some good U20 rugby to be seen!!
edit;; couldn't make last Saturday's trial, hoping for a summary from Micheal!
Thanks, I was hoping that someone would have the teams, although last week there was two teams, a Blue and White team both with 6 or so reserves, so a total of around 40+ players. I also saw several ''big names'' standing around the sidelines. Any idea of the other team?
My info was that only a small number were cut (5or6) so you would assume they were minor names, also, they are trialing again this Sat. in the same teams as last Sat. ie NSW Blue and White, I think that this weeks 3rd team is a Randwick grade team who I believe is playing the extended Waratah...
