Citing players to prove the point is dangerous when you don’t know what you’re talking about.
Kemeny did his ACL in the school championships.

Geez, its not like you to miss the point and cherry pick.

As I stated, there are plenty more examples to reinforce the point that selection in Schoolboy Rep teams isnt the be all and end all concerning a players long term prospects of being successful in the game post school. Selectors dont always get it right and circumstances come into play.
Its really a note of encouragement to any schoolboys who might miss out on being named in teams this year.

However, if you insist on being pedantic, Kemeny was injured in the Final so was the extent of his injury known that afternoon when the Schoolboy squads were announced?
I'll let you work that one out.

Miss the point?
One of your chosen (googled?) examples was plainly explicable. I picked it from tv.
Funny that google failed to tell you that Snoz was in the 77 schools side too.

How much do you actually know?
Kemeny did his ACL in the school championships.
And played extremely well (until he went off injured, late in the game). IMO was the best player that day for the beaten NSW 1st.

Problem is there is always a lot of talent and competition for breakaway/back row positions. Very good players will be overlooked

No, didnt mention all the great players from the undefeated touring Aussie Schoolboys team.
I was focusing more on the 1977 NSW teams when NSW2 defeated NSW1 before the NSW2 team beat the 1s in the Final in 2016.
Hugh Jarse pointed out the historical significance in 2016 and was discussed in the 2016 National Championships thread.
All points were made in reference to selections of schoolboy teams in relation to the success of players post school.

You’d think you’d invented the wheel.
This is the subject of a thesis which you’ll find somewhere in these threads and on google.
https://www.researchgate.net/public...nior_representation_in_Australian_rugby_union

A logical conclusion indeed Professor: well researched.
''These results lead us to suggest that selection into the Australian Schoolboys team is not a precursor for later Rep honours"
I think that's what was being discussed by Up the Guts and me while you were snapping at ankles.
Stating the obvious for some but still .....

What about the big drop in CHS rep players in NSW teams from 1977 as compared to 2016?
23 players in 1977 vs 6 players in 2016.
Have you written a thesis on this?
Rugby used to be very strong in Public Schools in those days, along with league ... not sure exactly when rugby fell off the map and league gained the ascendancy.

Another discovery?
You’re on a roll.
