Last week was just one of those shit nights that every team has had at one stage or another.

To prove this, here's a pop quiz: can you name any of the third string and lower props who played for the Reds in 2007 after their prop injury crisis? At one stage, pretty sure the Reds were down to 5th or 6th string props.

Unfortunately, third and fourth string props tend to struggle unless you have a guy from club rugby who can scrum but is a bit of a pot plant otherwise.

Van Wyk also went down in a scrum that the Reds applied a lot of pressure in.

Force should work on keeping off the first shunt then channel ball through the scrum for a fast clear until their first string props are back up. Hopefully they can fix the lineout too, lineouts are something that can be fixed up to a good level (if you have the jumpers and thrower, that is) fairly quickly.

Teams being announced, I detect Kearns & Kafer but no Marto so far, must be sucking in V8 fumes somewhere........

EDIT: @Sully, does Marto qualify for protection under your (admirable as always) Rule 4. above?

Early PK Force, Abbott pinned by McCalman but TBF wasn't trying that hard to get clear..... Holmes gets it done, 3-0.

Savea bombs a certain 5. Jaysus, glad I'm not a 'canes supporter. In saying that, they just FUCKIN' MURDERED the Force scrum, try is defo back on here.....

Great D Force, 'canes pinged for blatantly wearing a God-awful away strip & rightly so.

Savea good run, Coast-to-cost play & Jane finishes it. Shields could probably have got there but CJ got closer to the posts, Beaugan to add the 2 but puts it well wide, 5-3 Horrorcanes in the 14th.

Canes making an inspired decision to leave a few starters out. These squad players are up for this and an ambush was the Forces best hope for a win.
