    My thoughts on your team.

    - If you have Crockett in your side make sure you have a good starting prop on the bench because they will have him start from the bench in a few games.
    - Messam may not play Round 1 from what I have read
    - I'd go with Pretorius over Genia. Or drop down to Ben Lucas if he gets the #10 spot.
    - How much do you have left over? Because you will have to get rid of Jantjies eventually
    - Brumbies have the bye in Round 2 so you don't want to run the risk of getting a 0 for a position so early in the season if one of your players is a late scratching.

If I remember correctly last season Mealamu, Bismarck and to a cheaper/lesser extent Ged Robinson were, from a fantasy point of view the MUST have hookers the competition. Mealamu was old faithful in my team, Bismarck got a raw deal with John Smit robbing him of the first choice hooker spot, but whenever Bis played, you were guaranteed points. So yes, with Smit out of the way, IMHO he is worth 400k.

At the moment I got Cruden, Carter and Slade  I am sure that will change closer to the start of the season.

Thought Carter at least was out for the first few rounds..

    Who would be Carter's replacement?

OK, can anyone see any glaringly obvious holes here? Bearing in mind that the sides haven't been named. Not 100% sure on the Backrow or the Outside backs.. Hell not sure on any of it.

OK made some changes already - Manu & Vito out, Poey and Beau in, Morahan out Killian in. As I said not bloody idea..

Barbar - is there going to be a tipping league as well?

Suckerforred, you have seen the light in the glory that is chariots, and made him captain, oh happy days! Also, for comparison. I've updated my team, constant changes but i think this one will stay unless there are injuries before 1st round. As for glaring holes I haven't seen any, although I haven't been keeping up to date with injuries. I like to have a few goal kickers to pick up extra points rather than take a punt on people being try scorers, that said digby is a good pick for tries along with pretorius. Looking forward to the comp.

Steyn is worth way too much and really doesn't do much but kick, still i'm sure he would have racked up points consistently last year, even if not massive totals.

Hey mods, is there anyway we can get an Injuries Watch List sticky again this year. Would be a help for our picks. Thanks guys.

This competition is pure luck so here's my 22.

Front Row: Oosthuizen (CHE). Alexander (BRU).
    Hooker: Du Plessis (SHA).
Locks: van der Merwe (LIO). Boric (BLU)
Backrow: Pocock (WFR). Whitelock (CRU). Alberts (SHA)
    Scrummie: Pretorious (WAR)
Inside Backs: James (LIO). Harris (RED). La Grange (LIO)
Outside Backs: Aplon (STO). Lambie (SHA). Morahan (RED)

    RES:
MacKintosh (HIG), Frier (REB), Pyle (REB), Whiteley (LIO), Lucas (RED), Toomua (BRU), Sithole (SHA)

    - Limiting my Waratahs players as they are unlikely to survive more than two rounds at a time.
    - Few too many Lions players but thats all I could afford

Maybe invest in a kicker or 2. Usually a safe bet for some points

Bit concerned with my team being a bit Reds biased, but I was looking forward to their juicy clashes in rounds 2 (Force) and 3 (Rebels).

I have Slipper, Horwill, Harris and Ioane.

Thinking of ditching Slipper or Horwill, probably Horwill, as I suspect that the change in points for front rowers will favour a high workrate prop like Slipper. Only reason I didn't take Alexander is because he has a bye in round. Only reason I took Horwill is because he has scored a try in each of the trials.

Harris is the other I am not sure of. He will kick the Reds' goals, but I am concerned he will get subbed early for Lucas.

The rest of my team is all around the place.no Rebels cause of the bye in the first round, no Brumbies cause of the bye in the second. Reserves are mostly the cheapest players I could get, apart from the odd decent scorer.

Props: Benn Robinson, James Slipper; res: Pek Cowan (cheap!)
    Hooker: Battleship; res: Ged
Locks: Horwill, Bekhuis; res: Kane Douglas (cheap and starter)
Loosies: Pocock, Thomson, Minnie; res: Chamberlain (starters all high scorers from last season, Pocock has a juicy starter vs the Brumboys)
Halfback: James Stannard (who will be at 10 for the Force); res: Prior
Inside backs: SBW, Doppies, Harris; res: Michael Hobbs (starters, apart from Harris, high scores from last year, very worried about SBW though, and am tempted to trade Doppies for another kicker - tempted to get J'OC, but he has a bye first up)
Outside backs: Ioane, Dagg, Ranger; res: Tom Kingston (I am not sure that Dagg or Ranger are good choices for the first round.Beale has a bye first up, and looks too injury prone lately to risk anyway)

Yes, yes, Reds and Australian players biased. Not many Saffas.

Others I am thinking of are Brussuow or Smit for perhaps Minnie or Thomson.

What's Brussow (iPhone translated as Brussels) going for? I've still got 25k and can mix it up a bit

My concern about Dagg is that he seemed to only play every second or third game last year due to injury. But that might be just my perception cause every time I picked him he broke..

Other then that - probably as good as any of us.

Does anyone know when the side are to be anounced?

Most sides are usually out by Thursday.

Had Dagg in my side before the Rebels game and the 2 tries he scored in that has alleviated any worries i had. If he stays fit he will be a keeper.

True. I made my comment before I had read the complete reports. You might be on a good thing.
