I'm still waiting for the results of the ARU investigation before I comment on whether Beale should be reprimanded. The reports coming out so far seem to suggest that tempers flared between two colleagues. That in and of itself is not really out of the ordinary given the circumstances. The important questions that we don't know the answers to are:-
1) what was said during the exchange.
2) was there any aggravating factor - (i.e. alcohol)
Seems like Patston is upset about something said by Beale. On the one hand, (without being too sexist) its not uncommon for female colleagues to get overly upset after a heated exchange. On the other hand, I worry whether Beale has personally insulted the woman. This is mere speculation, because for all we know Patston told Beale that he's a lousy drunk that crabs sideway at 10, and Beale retaliated.

It'll be interesting to find out the facts in the coming weeks.

Wouldn't there be privacy issues around a university disclosing if someone had studied there?

It amazes me how long these ARU investigations take. Interview all parties (this could be over the phone or video conf etc,) report to BP, make a decision.

They aren't sitting around with their fingers up their asses waiting for shit to land on their desk though.

Everybody has regular jobs in an organisation which may be understaffed due to cost-cutting.

From a previous link in relation to Patston relating to her employment at the Reds I dont recall seeing her around the Reds at all in 2011, I think this may be another embellishment as I am pretty sure that she joined in 2012.

On her LinkedIn page, which was first heavily edited, and then removed completely late on Thursday, Patston stated she joined the Reds in February 2011 after 11 years working as a "Snr Audit and Compliance Officer" with the "Australian Federal Misconduct Commission".

Considering Rugby Reg worked for the Reds at that time and has nothing but positive things to say about her in this thread, I wouldn't be certain anything is made up.

That article has since been taken down because the qualification numbers and details were sent to the 'journalists' who posted a story designed to shift the blame to the (alleged) victim, as was the confirmation from the CMC that she had worked there (perish the thought that the wrong name was used on a LinkedIn profile!). Further, she was absolutely employed by the QRU in 2011.

Appalling attempt at a smear job and I expected better research by Guinness et al.

Pretty sure Patston was in Dallas on 22 November 1963 and at 511 Tenth St, NW, Washington, DC some years earlier

Another theory. In days of yore (and probably still) the manager would escort any player leaving a tour, be it due to injury or otherwise, to the airport. Given Ms Patston is the manager, Link as the most senior person left had to do the job.

Also if Carter and KB (Kurtley Beale) had the wrong shirt on why weren't they asked to change on the bus before they even got to the airport and who takes several team shirts in carry-on luggage to allow such a change in the first place.

I don't think we have drilled down to the level of detail I would expect given the amount of information (as distinct from speculation) that is out there.
Is everybody sure that regulation underwear was being worn? is that bonds? was she in cottontails? (am i showing my age?)

She wasnt there for the title 2011 Cat_A plain and simple that was July 2011.

If other sites have her details wrong then fair enough, the W Force forum page had her at the Australia Federal Miconduct Commission until November 2011 so a bit hard to be in 2 places at once.

I do agree however that this is absolutely irrelevant to this incident, and if Beale did abuse her when she was doing her job then he has done the wrong thing.

I have seen players on numerous occasions get on to a plane, change clothes for the flight and then change back before landing.

In evaluating the situation has anyone considered Drew Mitchell's response to it all?

From all I've heard and read about Drew, it seems that he's a straight shooter when it comes to behaviour off the field, and has little tolerance for domineering dickheads (see interviews on his initial impressions of JOC (James O'Connor) heading to Toulon).

Further than that, he would obviously have numerous contacts within camp Wallaby, and I highly doubt he would have taken to twitter to defend KB (Kurtley Beale) without first consulting them ("Hey man I heard KB (Kurtley Beale) was playing up on the plane on the way over to Argentina? What was all that about?" etc). At the very least, his boyfriend AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) is only a message away.

To me it seems that it has either been blown completely out of proportion, or that as some have noted already here, that many of player's are on team-KB (Kurtley Beale) and there is a bit of friction between player's and player management on tour.

This all very interesting indeed.

I wouldn't read much into Drew's comments. I think he is just supporting his mate at a time when the guy's career could be hanging in the balance.

It's impossible to know whether he knows anything or nothing. Certainly he's only likely to have heard a side of the story that is somewhat supportive of Beale, probably from AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) or Beale himself.

Come on @Scrubber2050. The "Quade Telling It How It Is" Thread took 3 days to get to 13 pages, a further 5 days to crack 50 pages, and broke the tonne after another 54 days.

In the finest traditions of the internet, we've managed to rack up 15 pages despite an almost complete absence of any facts.

I'm not sure if this one can beat the Quade thread - it was truly Bradmanesque in its speed of scoring.;)

Who'd have thought a workplace argument over a t-shirt would shake the world;).

Wonder what the Argies are making of all this?o_O

Qué está pasando? Estos australianos deben amar a sus camisetas!
