I only can see 5 - 4 country, 1 sydney. Milad is not listed, only supposedly on a replacement list as indicated by a blogger.

The 4 country boys were already selected before the NSW school trials.

Are you saying no other CCC boy proved their worth at the school championships but 12 GPS boys did to be selected in NSW Schools?

I have no connection with the three boys I put forward as possible selections on ability, it was my judgment from watching the trials/games. Now, one was already picked in country - no problem. The other two boys were dual coders but stood put like beacons on a dark night (even a blind person would have seen that), now they probably could not give a rats regarding their non-selection as both have played Harold Matthews this year and likely will play SG ball either next or the following year and continue on with junior rep career in league - I just feel sorry for australian rugby union as another two possible classy union players have been left to the power of rugby league.

It is this shortsightness that has the Wallabies and the game struggling now and in the future.

PS: I have two boys who were dual coders and had the same treatment from Schools and now are establishing successful careers in league. I was hoping things might had changed in the last few years.

    Mum,

I argued the very same points last year in the '2011 U/16' thread and also in the 'League v Rugby' thread! I agree with you totally!

For me there was some hope offered through the 'Garling Report', however for the most part the recommendations were never implemented or pursued!

Still no "official" posting of teams on the Schools or Sydney Juniors web pages. Reliant on this blog and what was in the paper.

When do the announce the next round of the JGS?

Some of the "fringe" CCC boys would benefit from some extra rugby tuition that JGS provides.

Having turned up to the Schools Tournament at Knox COLLEGE Grammar, these boys should no longer be "strangers" to the JGS selectors.

Actually H J I know of 4 of the CCC boys are already involved in the JGS program through the various academies, CCAS, IAS, NIAC, Hunter Academy, and Western Region academy. These kids are already known to the ARU staff.

Are those 4 in the JGS among the "lucky" CCCers that have been selected through SJRU or NSW Country or additional to those selected?

As others have opined elsewhere on these boards, the conversion of a dueller is a Pantene solution, particularly an aspiring forward. Others here seem to think it will happen overnight. I do not think so.

No I wasn't saying there were others not up to it, but seriously do you believe these trials were to truly select the team or to scan for some more cream of the crop for a previously selected team? These 15 year olds must be absolutely OUTSTANDING as the quality to choose from these games was pretty damn good.
Hence why Sydney has a squad of 25 hopefully to accommodate the 2 kids that missed the chance as a result of the younger kids selected. Not one to put down kids and their rugby - and felt there were many kids not only in NSWCCC but one from Country Schools (NSW Under 15;s), as well as others in other associations that missed out. And then when they get to opens they wonder why they have trouble filling numbers. Nothing will change until all the associations band together and tell the schools to jam it - then it will be a GPS side not NSW Schools. But I can't see that happening.

No HJ These kids are not Dualies - played union since Year 6 with each other in Polding Teams, and then country Teams. A couple are being closely monitored by the ARU. I don't think they are missing out at all, as their pathway has provided fun, trips away, great mates, and hard core rugby in New Zealand, Victoria and this week on the Gold Coast.

I can advise there are more then four from the U16s CCC squad that are/where in JGS (and some are dual coders).

We (Australian Rugby) needs some solution. I only have advocated dual code backs & maybe a backrower to convert to a loose forward. I have too much respect for the tight 5 to suggest an instant conversion.

I don't like to compare players, especially out of the same squad but there was daylight between Topiese, Hogan and Milad, Hammond.

I believe the other country kid selected for 16's CCC was a 14yr 6'3 boy called Tristan Green. As a representative union player for many years myself this boy made a clear impression on me. I also watched him in the u/15's CCC league. Hope we get him next year for union.

As I just stated as an Independant with several years at grade level myself and scouting talent over 10 yrs I believe the youngest kid on the team Tristan? (It took a little investigative research ) & as I also noticed him in the league selections is with further technical development the one I am keen to earmark as a player to watch. Does anyone know if this kid will be returning for selections next year? I did hear possibly league?
