Eagle will presumably get some of the penrith boys who went to easts after last year, even with Jerome Mckenzie out with his broken leg I'm sure they'll be looking at him.

Mitch Chapman, Kane Douglas, Steven Hoiles, Tim Metcher, Can Treloar, Ita Vaea, Matt Carraro, Ethan Ford, Brendan McKibbin & Sam Windsor I suspect are doubtful due to retirement, overseas contracts or other NRC clubs.

The squad must be close to being announced. Expect to see some ring ins. A "returning from overseas" 33 year old lock with strong credentials and no Easts, Randwick or Country links is the latest. Another lock will be a Southern Districts former rugby league player from NZ contracted to the Tahs. The eligibility applied here is almost as good as the Qld Origin team :)

But the NRC does not have "eligibility". Generally players have links to the aligned teams and areas, much like most players in professional sporting teams that aren't Toulon. And like most, some go to other players for the opportunity.

Matwijow and Ala'alatoa will be missing. Off to the ITM Cup. Why do they choose that over the NRC? $$?

I don't think that there is a lot of money floating around in NZ ITM Cup.

What they do offer is NZ style coaching, and playing in a "tough and competitive" environment in a condensed format, in an intense rugby environment.
That sort of experience can't be bought in Australia. Probably the equivalent of jumping across to Sefrika to do a season of Curry Cup.

The players should be better for the experience.

Hoiles also gone this year as is Tala Gray, Cam Treloar & those mentioned above

2015 jersey designs are up on the Eagles facebook page. Very slick designs.

Yep they look good, they've changed the emblem as well

Hi all,

last year GAGR covered the NRC better than any other media unit out there. We had the support of a great bunch of supporters who stuck their hand up and either wrote reviews or previews or took photos.

If you are keen to stick your hand up to help out this year, please send me a direct message and let me know (including team and which discipline).

We make it easy with you in terms of templates for match reviews and previews.

Media accreditation through the ARU will also be available.
