Holy shit . If Christian is not in 1st xv after playing every game last year it will be one hell of a 2nd xv

Malaulau will play in the first XV, it's whether he is able to perform week after week under pressure, the coaches will be expecting a lot and if he doesn't live up to his great standards, there's more than enough depth to replace him.

Abit late there mate, he never came back. I believe he is playing down at wests now.

Just got confirmation from a teammate that you're right. Currently injured so not playing for Wests week to week, but definitely not at BBC.

How didn't this make it on to the forum earlier? apologies to the blokes I called out before, but I thought his Facebook was pretty good evidence he was there...

Syd smith on the wing? Josh betar at 10? And the forward pack here is debatable. I'd place Syd in 12 where he can be used, with Jayden at 10 who is a great player of the ball and place joe stead or ben simpson on the wing and leave len at fullback, with jerumi or chris veriavis at 13 and leave sam edwards on the other wing, unstoppable with the ball in hands. A young back line but definitely capable. John seabroke, lachlan foulds, jack davidson, nathaniel carswell and Josh Betar are some other names that can be counted as centre possibilities.

Forward pack is debatable, with names like Tom Davidson (1st VIII rowing captain) that has tremendous fitness, John T-Swain who was a star of 2nd XV last year, and Lucas Palmer who took the place of Darcy T-Swain throughout the year that could all possibly play in the 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 position. Also the front row with young guns like Chris yanopa, Francis Nauja, and Hayden Lazarus who could compete with the likes of a 'lazy, fat and unfit' word has it Luke Peterson and the other the props.

A new 'super coach' has come into camp also, 1st VIII coach and Aust. Rower Richard Paterson who has made a great emphasis on fitness and strength in college rugby this year. He has, with the help of other coaches, changed many boys attitudes and physically developed boys throughout the last two terms.

'College rugby looks fitter faster stronger this year, a contender for sure' Brisbane Grammar coach and Churchie coaches say.

Would have been very disappointed if Toowoomba went on tour and didn't get on the piss. Good to see Rugby's culture of bonding at the pub and being a bit rowdy is still continuing. Kids that age all get on the piss anyway.

Shame one clearly went too hard and blew it for everyone.

Syd Smith is wasted on the wing! Him and Lachlan Foulds would make the biggest and arguably the best centre pairing in the comp, jerumi back on the wing and you have dangerous back line.

Julian Gardner and Mr Carrol i've heard wispers from.

Justin Caroll left BGS 3 years ago. I believe he is now with St Edmunds of the AIC.

That being said, everyone in Brisbane knows that BBC are destined to win this year

Whether or not they can fight off upsets is the real question. Southport last year were in a similar position, being clear favourites with an incredible squad of players, but couldn't beat Nudgee and tied that game to Churchie to lose the premiership.

My old man went to BBC, and I'm hoping they can win the comp after a 50 year drought. That BBC premiership side was captained by Berrick Barnes' maternal grandfather whose name escapes me..

Dear mr king. Great comment

On paper ,BBC have 2 very strong squads. But in 2012 they had 5 Qld players including 2 Australian schoolboys who played a total of ..........4 matches between them !!the captain did not play one match . Nether did Banks who was yesterday named in Aussie under 20 squad for World Cup with Junior/ Lolo.

Difference this year is depth.

Berrick Barnes grandfather was Robin Shaw- a tough tough man. His sons Warwick and Justin
both played in BBC 1sts. As well as numerous cousins. Berrick was always going to go to BBC with his cousins until Ipswich offered a full scholarship in cricket / rugby and the idiots on BBC school council said in reply" we do not do scholarships- we would rather lose with dignity"and for the last decade they have !!!![/quote]

Wow impressive team. But 3 problems: depth , depth, depth.if roycroft or Te rupe get injured then it's all over.

how can you say there is no depth unless you go to the school? The terrace 16 B's from last year were undefeated and pushed everyone else's poo in. Therefore they have arguably the most depth in GPS with the 16 B's, C's and D's going all undefeated in 2013. There is depth. If Nikau were to be injured, yes that would be a blow but there are still many players who could step up. If however there are no injuries in the starting 15 team then the terrace 2nds would be up for a undefeated season.

Interesting note book: I think BBC have internal trials this week. So much 1st XV experience already in the squad, nine returning from strong 2013 and one from the ill-fated 2012 team, there are going to be some good players on the bench.

Young man - I admire your school spirit but the 16 B And C teams count for nought when looking at depth for a first. Xv which is usually comprised of the very best 16 & 17 yr old s and more and more 18!year olds.
If the Terrace 2 nd xv win more than 4 matches I will,go nude in queen st
