No mention of BGS 3 . He can play. Tough , very high work rate

Yes, an unforgivable oversight on my part. He was excellent

Speaking of players that I should have praised, the BBC #2 reminded me a lot of NZ Schools and NZ U20s hooker Asafo Aumua. Very, very dynamic when given room to run

Terrace's star 14A team now with two losses in the trial rounds

I'm pretty sure Terrace went down in every other fixture with the exception of the 16A's
I think you will find that Terrace are rotating about 45 to 50 boys throughout the As and the Bs, the last 2 trials will by no means be an indication of how they will perfom in the season proper, I know there is a couple of boys they played in the As on the weekend that were in the Cs last year, they are giving every boy a chance to prove themselves.

Found myself out at Tennyson for a football supplementary.! :(
Managed to sneak away to see BBC 15 A put at least 7 tries on GT.
Are they good ?yes they are.
Are they hard on the ball ? no way-too many out wide runners.
Will they beat IGS in round one?.
Not on todays match-but there are some stars there at 10 and 15.
If the centre that was coming to Nudgee played- he did not stand out.
15 As looks a 2 school race.

.

Did GT have their top team.?Were the new guys from BSHS Playing?

I heard the ex BBC boy in 16 A for Gt had a blinder

Have to agree. Was on the GT side while 13As played. They gave "everyone" a go.
Those 2 young coaches are a credit to GT-very encouraging, calm and positive-supporting good rugby from BOTH schools.Well done=impressed..

I think I have seen enough so far, opening book makers markets would look as follows for the 2017 First XV.

TSS -$1.80
NC - $3.50
GT -$5.00
BBC - $11
BGS - $25
ACGS - $50
BSHS-$50
TGS-$150
IGS-$200

TSS -$1.80- but where do they play NC?. If at TSS -you can bet it will be old boys day!
NC - $3.50

Daylight $10

BBC - $15
GT -$20.00
TGS-$25.00
BGS - $55
ACGS - $75
BSHS-$100
IGS-$100

GT v IGS v TGS

@Theking any GPS predictions?

I've only seen four school's trial so I really can't.

If we assume pro players are unavailable for selection, my best guess:

1. Halatoa Puafisi (TGS)
2. Eugene Koorts (IGS)
3. Moses Alo-Emile (BSHS)
4. Tom van der Schyff (TSS)
5. Harry Wilson (GT)
6. Mitch Wood (NC)
7. Joe Small (NC)
8. Cullen Ngamanu (BBC)
9. Phoenix Hunt (NC)
10. Campbell Parata (TSS)
11. Dan Burns (TSS)
12. Noah Lolesio (TSS)
13. Tristan Stanghorn (ACGS)
14. Jordan Petaia (BSHS)
15. Byron Ralston (GT)

I'd be surprised if the front row changes much, but BGS' Tuimavave, BBC's Rhys van Nek and TSS' front row tandem of Zane Nonggor and Egan Siggs could well feature.

Xavier Vela-Tupuhi from BBC and MJ Havili from ACGS both have plenty of size and could find themselves in a GPS 1 lock spot, as might Wilson Blyth (TSS), Harrison Cannon (NC) and Joseph Faulalo (IGS). Brisbane Grammar captain Ollie Shepherd is a bolter here.

This back row is a touch smaller than you'd like, so that might open the door for Reno Gerrard at TSS or another new, bigger face on the First XV scene.

The halves must be set in stone, but Cooper Whiteside (IGS) or Isaac Crone (BSHS) could upset the food chain at #10. BBC's blond flyhalf and BGS' Daejarn Asi are the longshot bolters. BSHS #9 Mosiah Christian is highly regarded but I'm not sure that I've seen him play.

The backline was a little tricky. Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow is seriously electric but his time as a GPS 1 star might be a little further down the track. Jared Chambers from State High showed some excellent signs and Nudgee have a lot of talented outside backs but no real superstar it would seem. I can never remember which of TSS' Koen Dovey and Dan Burns I liked better, but my gut says Burns was slightly more polished

Anyway. A fun exercise

You can't have $1.80 favourites before the season even kicks off! Punters would be outraged. I think you're being a little too kind to Terrace, but this is a bloody good approximation.

There's not really enough value anywhere in that field to buy in. So I guess as a bookie you've done poorly?

Why do you say the "pro"players are unavailable & who are they?
Are they all league boys-except for BBC 5?
Sua ,Ponga & Croft never trialed- so I guess you are right.

Cyril Towers (30)
All were fist XV stars last year. Jordan Petaia a Australian Ba Ba rep and Tristan Stanghorn a queensland schoolboy
