    Round 4 is a great round to have a bye if your 3 and 0 but I expect BBC will probably go with a 70-80% strong team on the day. At home, that’s probably enough. BBC to give them a reality check by 9 points.

    And if Downlands do win I will just say “ Bah. humbug we didn’t play our best team anyway”. You have been warned ;)

    Don't think Ippi's policy of just pinging the ball around will work against a team like Nudgee that always has rigid defence, set piece strength and pressure cooking attack. THey won't get the ball and if they do they will make mistakes under pressure.

    Playing social touch against Toowoomba is completely different from fronting up to NC

    Nudgee by at least 10 points. If IGS give away as many penalties in the first half against TGS then Nudgee will win by more. Toowoomba's defence fell apart in the 2nd half. That won't happen with NC.

    Consistent structure and rigidity is harder to impose on a game for 70 mintues than it is to remove. Ipswich only need Nudgee to drop their guard for 10 minutes of game time and they will cause havoc.Ippy by 10.

    Finally a round where the tipping might be a bit tougher with some good match ups.

    True, except for their last match, and I know we all put a little * next to the battle for the colors. but they shipped a lot of points anyway, and they are probably facing a better team (definitely bigger) this week. I’m still tipping them because. well they are Nudgee but this match is up for grabs and Ippy at home, on a roll. I can’t wait to watch.

    Obviously TSS is the deserved favourite against TGS tomorrow but I believe it might be closer than many pundits think. Having been a Toowoomba resident for many years TGS enjoy the best Home Ground advantage of any team, at Old Boys' Oval, particularly with the cold blustery conditions tipped for tomorrow.
    With the wind chill factor bringing tomorrow's temp to under 10C the Southport boys will be wishing they were back on the Coast. Also with the East-West oval running into the sun (and the wind) in the 2nd half is not ideal particularly if you are the TSS fullback, under a high ball, getting crunched by a 105 kg raw boned young farmer, thoughts of Main Beach in the sun will come flooding back. Will be interesting. Tipping TSS by 12.

    Just been reading the paper , CM live streaming AIC rugby league games including lower age groups , there was no streaming of the AIC rugby union comp.

    Seems a worrying trend to me .

    They have been beaten to the punch by their own new league competition. Obviously the AIC schools don’t have a problem with streaming so just a case of dropping the ball from them with Union. Hopefully next year they will stream some open games. I also think that up until grade 11 or opens we probably need to chill out a little and just let kids learn to play the game and be kids. Absolutely any fan or parent can put together highlight or pump up videos.they are great. But advertising grade 9 games in the States biggest paper.. a bit silly. Let’s not put 13 and 14 year olds up to that level of pressure.

    Also can we get some pregame entertainment like this (6:30 onwards)

    Makes a Nudgee vs Terrace game look like a subbies match. Crazy

    Is it correct GT-BSHS 1st XV had uncontested scrums today? If so which school called it ?

    Yep , went uncontested after the second GT prop went off in the 2nd half , had a couple off injured in the 2nd XV as well , basically ran out of props .

    Nudgee demolished Ipswich today. The forwards walked all over Ipswich at the breakdown. The Ippy backs were very good, but Pasatoa really made Walker look like it was a man v a school kid. Superb performance by Pasatoa, possibly his best yet.

    What was clear today is the following:

    Nudgee won’t have any trouble with any teams for the rest of the season;

    TSS won’t have any trouble with any teams for the rest of the season;

    TSS will win the Premiership;

    Nudgee will be runners up.

    A shame to have the Nudgee TSS game in the first round as the season has unfortunely been decided already and now it’s just a bunch of games playing out that have no consequence.

    Terrace.oh Terrace.how far have you fallen.
