Brothers missed Tarabay big time - Cartwright and Willem got found out.

In saying that if brothers converted their trys they would have been the victors.
Brothers woes not just in Prems they lost colts 1-4.

Brothers only won 2/3/5th grade and Colts 5

That would be disappointing given their impressive programme.

Wandered over to the other side of town yesterday to watch the Norths/Bond matches. Gotta say, Norths are certainly on the improve. The Colts game as @Rugby follower mentioned was a cracker. High scoring, could have gone either way.

Reggies was similar, though it never seemed in doubt for Bond, unlike the usual performances of Norths, they just kept coming.

Prems was interesting, with better game management from Norths they win that game.

Whoever the Bond 9 was should be counting his lucky stars he wasn't sent off for a direct punch to the face of a Norths player about 10 minutes in. From where I was watching on the road side of the field, the ref was right in front of it and did absolutely nothing. Maybe he missed, but it didn't look like it.

I have to agree, i thought Cartwright would kill it however they seem to lack direction and his replacement Johnson was just to slow. I don’t understand why the Reggie’s half was not on the bench. You can’t beat experience.
I don’t understand why Wilson was replaced, his Brothers best week in week out. UQ played some good footy and were deserved winners. I think Brothers have goal kicking problem, they got 1 from 4 and it cost them.

What's the story with Easts this season? Seems like they've had a rough few results. Players retired/on holiday/lured elsewhere/rebuilding year blooding in youth?

I think Easts lost some 8 Prem players from last year and they did very little recruit. I think it's going to be a long year for Easts unfortunately

The opposite of tall poppy. Many see their culture and environment as the antithesis of what young men just out of school need. The smarter youth are dialled into this and maybe voting with their registrations.

CS might be referring to the perception of Brothers as an insular, wealthy club made up of northside private school boys accustomed to getting what they want. Some might view that sort of club culture as enabling entitlement rather than tempering it.

Anecdotally I have only good things to say about 99% of guys I've met that play for Brothers, but my experience is that they shy away from self-policing their bad apples. Those few bad apples are the ones that sustain that negative perception.

I used to have that perception, then I met quite a few young blokes in the building game, usually apprentice carpenters or sparkys who played down there. All good, hard working young men with positive attitudes. It's made it harder to hate Brothers.
Though I've always wondered how their parents feel after spending all the money on a good education for them to end up in the trades.

The parents are probably feeling pretty good considering what sparkies make for taking after hours call.

Nowhere near as much as the doctor or lawyer or ceo they would have hoped them to be. Traditionally trades came from high school dropouts in the state school system. A lot cheaper route to the industry than 20k + a year school fees.
