And things just keep on getting worse for the Stormers

The Stormers have been fined a total of A$25,000 (ZAR 228,000) by SANZAR after they were found guilty of insulting and offensive conduct towards a match official.

A SANZAR Judicial Hearing conducted by Mr Terry Willis (Australia) has found the Stormers Team guilty of Misconduct under the SANZAR Code of Conduct following charges of insulting and offensive conduct towards Match Officials during the Stormers vs Hurricanes match on 26 April 2013.

The Stormers Team has been found to have brought the game into disrepute and breached Section 8.3 of the SANZAR Code of Conduct:

a) All persons must ensure the game is played and conducted in accordance with disciplined and sporting behaviour and acknowledge that it is not sufficient to reply solely upon the Match Officials to maintain those principles;

l) All persons shall not use crude or abusive language or gestures towards referees, assistant referees, Match Officials or spectators.

The Stormers Team has admitted its behaviour and accepted, that insulting and offensive conduct towards match officials was a breach of the SANZAR Code of Conduct and has no place in rugby and has unreservedly apologised to the Match Officials and Mr Sheldon Eden-Whaitiri in particular.

The Stormers Team have been fined the maximum financial penalty of A$15,000 for the insulting and offensive conduct towards Match Officials and A$10,000 for bringing the game into disrepute and also ordered to pay SANZAR's costs.

Got the maximum fine for making objections towards a official who let a guy get away with 3 counts of foul play two of them which is dangerous play? What about starting to impose fines on match officials who endanger the players?

Sanzar suspends Stormers investigation

May 9, 2013

Super Rugby governing body SANZAR has rescheduled its judicial hearing into complaints of misconduct against the Stormers and their team management during a match against the Hurricanes in April. The decision was made amid concerns a fair hearing was no longer possible. SANZAR will make no further comment about the "match day misconduct" incident during the Super Rugby round 11 match in Palmerston North on April 26, won 18-16 by the South African side.

The judicial hearing, which began on Wednesday, was originally adjourned at the request of Stormers' management. The hearing resumed early on Friday, but judicial officer Adam Casselden said he could not proceed due to concerns that a fair hearing was no longer possible because of the disclosure of certain information to him. Casselden has referred the misconduct complaints to a new SANZAR judicial officer in the belief that a new hearing is necessary in the interests of fairness to all parties.

SANZAR will appoint a new judicial officer, and set a date and time for the new hearing in due course.

Must be the afrikaans the Stormers bench used
When the odd refereeing decision did go the Stormers’ way, sarcastic cries of "dankie" apparently confused officials, who believed they were being called "donkeys".

die een stormer het gevra watter lynregter het die swak beslissing gemaak, die een aan die kant of daai kant en toe antwoord die ander Stormer beampte "daai kant" en toe hoor die lynregter hom

Happen a lot with me on the forum, the second language thing.

If the Stormers' players haven't yet realised that officials from Australia/NZ don't speak or understand Afrikaans, it's little wonder then that they haven't worked out how to find their way to the try line!

Ooh boy, let's hope that continues for tonight at least! Pretty please?

If the Stormers' players haven't yet realised that officials from Australia/NZ don't speak or understand Afrikaans, it's little wonder then that they also haven't worked out how to find their way to the try line!
Actually they manage to find it twice in that game. When the official weren't as bad they couldn't score!

Ain't the insult called a spoon-child? (A really stupid and/or retarded person.)

Rassie stop fucking picking arguments with everybody for the sake of it you're becoming a pain in the arse.

I like it when you talk rugby because you do actually make a valuable contribution but but all this type of crap in this thread is not going to make you friends.

Go to planet rugby if all you want to do is look for shit. We argue here but there's a difference between making a point and arguing for the sake of it.

My advice to you is to accept that this is an Aussie forum. It is always going to be biased towards the Aussie teams. Sometimes just let it go. I know its hard.

Guys, let's put a stop to the back and forth crap and talk rugby. There is a game on tonight that coincidently is the theme of this thread.

Rassie, which part of "move on" do you not understand?

The next post from you really needs to be a constructive one about rugby.

Read your inbox very quickly, please.

Higgers has started this game with the right intent. Really been enjoying watching Kolisi on this tour.
