The rebels back at home should put on a better showing than last week. The unpredictable Hurricanes are desperate for a win and will be targetting this game.

For the rebels there will need to be a vast improvement in their speed to the breakdown and the forwards providing good front foot ball for their backs.

On a side note Ghed Robinson comes up against his previous franchise and will have a point to prove.

Hurricanes: Cory Jane, Julian Savea, Conrad Smith, Ma'a Nonu, Andre Taylor, Daniel Kirkpatrick, Chris Eaton, Victor Vito, Jack Lam, Faifili Levave, Jason Eaton, Jeremy Thrush, Neemia Tialata, Andrew Hore (captain), John Schwalger.
Reserves: Dane Coles, Anthony Perenise, James Broadhurst, Serge Lilo, Tyson Keats, Aaron Cruden, Jayden Hayward.

An unchanged lineup from the Blues game, where the team capitulated following the Hore send off. Vito looks to have hit some good form and I thought Conrad was superb.

Canes weren't too bad at the breakdown with the likes of Schwalger and Tialata getting to more breakdowns than I've noticed previously.

God I hope that the Rebels put last weeks game behind them. This aint the strongest looking NZ team but it still looks pretty handy. Good to see Jack Lam starting again.

Its great to see Jack Lam start again, he is playing well and holding his own in this level of competition.
Be a good test for him against Delve, Lipman and Saffy...probably so far, the most brutal loose forward trio in defense....but thats my opinion...

A few interesting names on that team sheet. Will be good to see Rodzilla again, as well as the first outing of JP Du Plessis.

When didn't he start? I thought he had started every game this season?

Maybe, but it's still good to see that it is continuing, given he is a rookie. I was going to suggest that the Brumbies let a good one go, but they are pretty well stcked in that department.

Isn't anyone else concerned that they have 3 outside backs on their reserve bench, a halfback playing 15, and no 12 in the entire 22?

I'm actually pretty keen to see Kingi in that sort of role. I think it just might suit him.

We'll see how Kingi goes at fullback. I have my reservations. Has he played there in the Brisbane club comp before? Fullback is rather a specialised position - it's easy to be caught out of position, and requires some skill to inject yourself in the play at the right time. I think that a halfback, even one who played sevens very well, would struggle initially with the positioning and timing required at fullback, and probably the kicking, too.

I recall hearing that Kingi had played outside center in the Brisbane club competition, but not 15. He is a good broken play runner, and it may transfer with the positional change.

I think more players should be trialled at 15. Players like Kingi, Giteau, Stannard.

The hurricanes have come out and said they will be targetting the Rebels outsides.

Look for Cory Jane and Andre Taylor to get a lot of ball in hand.

And if you haven't heard of Julian Savea, chances are you will know who he is after this game.....

This is only the Canes 3rd game. Be interesting to see if they finally hit their straps. Canes by 9 my guess.
