If we actually lost Carter that’s beyond a joke.
Why do we persist with the Rebels?
Wouldn’t take a Wiki profile as gospel.
You would expect the Rebels at least to announce it .
He is represented by Picone I think , so maybe the Reds don’t know yet ..
Doesn’t sound right to me, but who knows.
Let’s not jump at shadows.
It is confirmed that Gordon has signed with the Rebels. The big dollar deal was done a few days ago. If the information that was told to me last night is correct then heads will roll. This is a monumental fuck up by the Reds after losing Rodda, Hockings and Lucas. Gordon has been signed for 3 years and being groomed at their strike power flyhalf then not to have a new contract on the table because they wanted Gordon to get rid of Picone is at a new level of stupidity. It’s one step forward and two back with the Reds. I don’t think Thorn saw this coming.
I can see why the Reds would make the decision not to continue to deal with an agent who is clearly going to agitate against what the Reds are trying to achieve in terms of culture.
Gordon might be all that and some but I what assume that what happened with Rodda, Lucas & Hockings is exactly why the Reds took that stand. I’d assume they would have been well aware of the consequences if Gordon decides to stick with his agent.
As a reds fan this sucks.
But what a awesome opportunity for Carter Gordon. Sounds like his going down there to be “the guy” not the “the guy getting groomed”
Don’t like the personnel decision here by the reds. Should of swallowed your pride just like you did with Hunter Paisami (another piccone player) and learned to live with this. Why wasn’t Gordon part of the Piccone 3 payer dispute, maybe Carter wanted to be at the reds but the reality is his stuck behind James OConnor and the young guy simply wants his shot.
This sucks big time. This kid has what is takes to make it to the top and it would have been great if it was with Reds. I hope it was handled in a way that would want him to return if given the opportunity.
Moving on who have we got in the shadows?
Well the recent 19 and 20 yr old standout 10s through the school system in Brisbane were..Pasitoa, Gordon and Lolesio.
mmmmmaybe Pasitoa is coming back! Brumbies already have Lolesio and Kuenzle.
orrrrrr back to the future with Lance?
orrrrrr Strachan returns from WF duty?
Thought that but all 3 are Picone players. No to Lance and Strachen. Could always ask Quade!!!!
Mack Mason, Jake McIntyre, Sam Greene?
Sam Greene has being going pretty well in Japan apparently. Wouldn't be the worst option to bring home. He is eligible for Japan now though, so he may take some convincing.
Is Picone at war with the Reds?
Where are all those residential real estate agents on here who are always saying, "he's doing the best for his client."
How can that be so if do the "best" for his client is continually trying to capsize the environment. Surely the best thing for Australian rugby is for QLD to keep it's players, and become a dominant powerhouse.
Sending people to Melbourne is such a waste. That club will never get off the ground.
If that's what he believes he's a peanut.
Bring Pasitoa home immediately.
I was speculating.
If this was a money move then he would of been gone when the piccone 3 foolishly left
Can’t knock the kid for wanting an opportunity.
Hopefully the Force would be making a play for Pasitoa!
Unless the Force do some heavy recruiting of quality/experience, the last thing you guys need is a rookie playmaker steering the team around
Really feel for the Reds, losing Lucas, Hockings, Rodda in such a combative way left me feeling sour and this doesn't help. Gordon is young and when his contract is done with the Rebels he'll only be 22, still a long time to play for the Reds. As we've seen with Petaia, having the young superstar isn't great if he's not on the pitch.
Wonder if Deegan is going to the Reds in a straight swap or maybe Toomua is going home too?
Once they go, not many 'come home'.
In fairness to Deprus he did say 'about five'
