Those names really surprise me. If they missed the first fifteen maybe not too much shock, but not in the 31?

A bit of a surprise Phillips and co missing out on squad, though I tend not to be a huge fan of Phillips. Can't really say I recognise enough of the Argies to comment too much, but think perhaps they maybe fairly tough for whoever meets them in QF.

Solid forward pack there from the Tongans. It is a very old team, but they should cause teams some real trouble.

Tonga squad for the World Cup:

This bit is interesting:

Curiously Tonga have named just 30 players, rather than the 31 allowed at this year's World Cup following the introduction of eight-man benches. The 31st player is expected to be named later this week with rugby league player Andrew Fifita have been linked to a code switch earlier this week.

Doubt there's any chance of that happening.

The games between Tonga, Argentina and Georgia will be pretty physical!

It would be short-signed from Fifita, as soon as he runs out for Tonga he destroys any rugby career in Australia.

Or maybe they're waiting on Ben Tameifuna to decide if he's a kiwi or a Tongan this week? :)

Fiji squad. Very good one IMO.

To be fair, why would you select someone who's shown little interest in playing for you, especially when you've got oitsi6de back talent that all but 3 to 5 nations would envy?
