Another cracking day down at Manly oval with the depth really showing and taking 7 from 7 in front of another good crowd

Forths had a a good win.

Thirds, was a had fort tussle, Dane making a return from injury and added some required experience up front. Max and Bris added some spark, and it was good to see Christie back really straightening up the line a number of times.

Seconds, Gordon beat Uni last week, and went down to the undefeated Woodies by 1 point earlier in the year. Our defensive line was strong early, but on turn over with ball in hand we tried going wide to early and Gordon raced to a 14 point lead with 2 tries against the run of play. We started to tighten things up late in the first half and leveled the scores. Halftime chat, and the second half had the forwards doing the hard work and earning the right send the backs wide. 38 - 3 after their 2 tries against the run of play.

Firsts, very new look side with a number of players over coming niggling injuries. Fought out a good win, fought being appropriate, good experience in the forwards brought it in tight and went forward when required. Fakai ran onto a couple of great balls to get a double, then Northam shows his gas and also goes over for a double. The second half played out and Turtle trotted out for yet another game.

Gee the talent watching / not playing today in a good crowd, Jordy, Woodhouse, Maile, Sef, Hooper, Fairbrother, Porecki, Peterson, Daruda, Collins, Manu, and possible missed some.

Club Championships still looking good, and Uni play Woodies next week.

When was the last ABC game at Merrylands RSL park?

Not too many would have tipped the Beasts v Woodies Score, let alone that Beasties would win, nor the magnitude of the Pirates victory.

Thanks @qwerty51.

I missed that one.

The M2B don't get too many ABC games. It would be harder for @BellyTwoBlues to put a sponsors proposal together when they don't get too many televised games at their home oval, compared to clubs that will get 3 or 4 games televised.

All the crazy sh*t and wild passes and stupid stuff that Wests indulge in actually paid off today.

Seriously though how BAD were Souths? Pathetic. Soft.Embarrassing.

Looks a great day there at Manly Dave! Pity you guys have got to watch it at that crappy ground!!!!

Allot of people think otherwise Paul because they keep coming back, and when the kids have fun and the Marlinettes even pull an audience even better as more kids end up playing.

Best 1/2 time entertainment going on.
A gazillion mini games of rugby/touch or just kicking and passing.
By some miracle, everyone leaves the field with their own ball as well.
Warms the heart.
That's one thing we miss from the good old days.
The full time sprint onto the field, first prize was the corner post.
...I must be getting old!

I wouldn't call Manly a crappy ground, being an oval there are some bad spots but it doesnt take long to find a great view. Had a great time yesterday and having a big crowd helps the atmosphere. Was pleased the game wasn't really over until about the 60th at one point it was looking like Gordon vs Eastwood all over again.

Had a great day at Merrylands RSL Rugby Park yesterday.

It was fantastic to have Two Blues Grade , Colts and Women's teams all playing at same venue , on back to Parramatta day

Really enjoyed being able to wander between the games and check out all the action.

Would have made a bloody good aerial shot , 3 fields of Two Blues doing battle.

PM we'll welcome you in 2 weeks time. The "crappy ground" is pulling in the local rugby community this season with great rugby and atmosphere as always - more than a few Gordon supporters there yesterday too . The Highlanders no doubt enjoyed their day by the seaside and competed well in all grades .

With a heaps of players to come back the crappy ground will be a burial ground for visitors this year

What's happening with the grand plan to dig up the crappy ground to build a car park?
