Ok, I don't tend to get drawn into debates over politics, but this takes it for me.
If you actually think that Newman is doing the State a favour by his drastic cuts to the public services, think again.
Who is tasked with implementing Qld governmental policy? The public service. And this is not all. The numbers of people he wishes to cut then don't have jobs. Therefore, they are not able to spend money in small, medium and large business as they don't have any money. Guess what happens to those businesses (especially small) when no one spends money in them?
Increase in the burden on federal social security is next, as they have no other option. What you have then is a false state economy.
Newmans' 'cost cutting' exercise will hurt the state in the long term.
Additionally, does the Qld government realise that crying out that they are broke actually adversely affects investment in Qld? Keep shouting poor, drive away any investors, then lets see what happens here!
