Mate, I have personally been through takeovers twice, once I got retrenched and the other time I was the only human in my group kept.

In the real world shit happens and you move on

Right. Like moving to a better club for, probably, more money.

or less money, because you aren't worth what you are getting

But in the Forces case didn't the ARU guarantee their contracts? So we are talking about the fringe contractless

I was mostly just talking about Wessels.

I don't think the promise to honour the contracts or the 'guarantee' means the player can't walk away from it.

Where is the Koroibete story coming from? I can't find any reference to anything relating to him returning to the NRL.

There is a story that he will be cheering on his old team, the Storm and is expected to also earn his second test cap this weekend.

It also indicates he's looking forward to the 2019 RWC.

You don't actually expect us to read the story do you? The headline gives you the general gist most of the time.

A story came out a few months back that Koribete "might" return to the NRL "if" the Rebels were cut. #fakenews

I think it [the recent story] was more about him 'keeping an eye' on the Storm since he'll be on tour when the final is on. Fair enough since he was in such a final barely 12 months ago.

Storm wouldn't take him back, they've replaced him easily with Ado-Carr and Vuinvula.. they don't need another specialist winger

Rugby union values specialist wingers greater then rugby league does. In the NRL, they use wing to blood the younger players before shifting them to centre or fullback, unless they're a wing who can also kick the they have limited value for NRL teams.

mate, I reckon it will they will only be confirmed as they run on the field. If they have more than a day together I'd be surprised. I still don't know where they are getting their players from. It's mid-NRC. Perhaps it will be players not playing for NRC teams? Guys like Maalonga Konelio, Byron Hutchinson, Fred Dorrough, etc

Fair comment, Reg, although I wouldn't be surprised if some NRC players are given "leave of absence" to participate in the Barbarians matches!!

Which NRC team has a bye on the weekend of 28/29 October? That could free up some players.
Barbarians play Classic Wallabies on Tues 24th, and Wallabies on Sat 28th.
