Wallabies 2023

The Ghost of Raelene

Andrew Slack (58)
They have players earning as much as Super Rugby players now with NIL and they are at best mid tier competitive. (Just like us)

They pay nothing to Metallica as they live the continued exposure.

Doesn’t the money the players earn (and it’s not all of them I think) come from endorsements rather than being paid by the college? And the TV rights deals the colleges sign up to are huge compared to super rugby

Correct, but the schools can organise the endorsements themselves and have a pool of resources to give out like third party deals.

Players can seek their own on top such as social media and things like that.

Having about 60k students on the piss in the stands might also help with the atmosphere just a tad, regardless of the organised entertainment. You could play Beethoven's 3rd Symphony and it would still be electric
Agreed, but there must be something between 60k students jumping to Sandman and the pre game dirge the tahs "producers" play before games at the moment

Consider yourself lucky that you didn't have to experience the era where the Reds played the below Reds-themed remix of Wiz Khalifa's Black and Yellow

Similarly, when they seemed to play endless instrumental loops of both Remember the Name and Lose Yourself...

They have geniuses who chose a dreary crowded house song to rev up the crowd pre game and clowns is speedos racing around eating pies at half time as entertainment

This was actually something the Tahs players wanted and had nothing to do with the gameday production. They actually tried to convince the Tahs not to use it.

That's still better then the video the Tahs were playing on the big screens when they scored a try this season. Sorry Tah fans that was one of the worst things I have seen in Super Rugby

Florida Gators' fans singing Won't Back Down in a Tom Petty tribute is pretty awesome too. Few vids of that.
