All in all, a good squad. If this was the squad for England, Ireland, Scotland or Wales we would all be happy, and I am happy with it.

Looks like Big Kev will be captain, his emotions can get the better of him so working a ref can be hard, but he is a damn inspiring leader and the team is better for him being captain.

Backline looks really exciting, we all saw how big an impact having a playmaker at 10, 12 and 15 had in the Chiefs this year - let's hope that translates to test level. Having Ioane, Tomane or Cummins on the wing gives enthusiasm and diffuses any Lions aerial threat. Hell, it looks like our entire backline can take the high ball.

The forward pack might struggle at scrum time, we don't really have a dominant scrummaging tighthead, but in all other departments it looks safe to strong. We have two lineout generals in contention and breakdown speed and impact is very good.

All in all a good team announcement.

Having no Mogg and Cooper is the biggest joke for me. They are left out while Rob Horne, Dennis, and Kepu are in. I'm not really a great fan of the Tahs, though I will admit they are playing a much better style of Rugby, its still not the best. I can cope with Dennis. The other two I can't. What on earth was going though Dean's head? Also IMO O'Connor is wasted at fly half and should be a winger or fullback. To'omua and Cooper are both specialist fly halves who have shown amazing talent in super rugby this year. It will be interesting to see how well Genia and O'Connor combine to create attacking flair and get the ball out the Diggers and Cummings...

Horne is in the top 3 inside centres of Aus at the moment, and if you discount Godwin (Who only Satan himself wouldn't throw into that cauldron) then he and Lealiifano are the two choices for 12.

I agree that Mogg is unlucky, but Folau and Barnes have been great this year and Mogg doesn't have a track record of doing well under pressure. Barnes and Folau do.

Dennis is a bit of left field, showing last year that super form does not translate to test form, but maybe he can do better this year. Time will tell.

Do you mean the Barnes who delivered a perfect pass for Hooper to score and got over the line himself last night? The one who also knocked down 40-50m kicks? Seriously, perception.

That Fantastic, 1 pass and 1 kick.. Enjoy this while you can he most likely get injured or knocked out very soon. You will need his form to get you to the Wild card
Also I have the enjoyment in seeing Cooper Doing that in most games. thanks for reminding me of Saia's try from Coopers freakish passes, 2 passes in a move...

Just because im a Reds Supporter dont think Im having a winge about Cooper not being named because im not . IM sure he even new it was coming.

Theres other players that should be there that aren't..

agree. mogg is unlucky on the back of great form from barnes and folau.

i don't think dennis will get into the game day squad. higgers and mowen much better than him.

I do...

It's simple.

TOO MANY TAHS TOO MANY TAHS.

Same. Old. Broken. Record.

This forum produces alot of broken records:

"Quade is hopeless, Quade Can't tackle, Quade can't take pressure, Quade is a Muppet"

"Deans is crap, Deans can't coach australians, Deans can't select, Deans is a muppet"

"The ARU suck, the wallabies play boring rugby, the wallabies still win matches, we're all muppets"

But one thing we can all agree on is that this tour will be awesome for us rugby tragics. I just hope we make the most of it and get some of our fringe fans back on board.

From a Kiwi point of view, awful selections. Cooper and Mogg?? George White will probably be fit. No full time 10 (JOC (James O'Connor) is a 14 or 15 and Barnes spends more time at 12), one halfback named (I suppose 6 more selections to go but name 2 initially). Holding back the naming of the captain wtf. Will be Horwill anyhow. Drew Mitchell left out (will need experience in the back 3 with Folau likely to start at 15)

On the good side of things Folau was selected and should start at 15. Finally Pat McCabe has not been selected.

Here's the 22 I can see playing:

1. Benn Robinson
2. Stephen Moore
3. Ben Alexander
4. Sitaleki Timani
5. James Horwill (c)
6. Scott Higginbotham
7. Michael Hooper
8. Wycliff Palu
9. Will Genia
10. James O'Connor
11. Digby Ioane
12. Berrick Barnes
13. Adam Ashley-Cooper
14. Joe Tomane
15. Israel Folau
16. Saia Fainga'a
17. James Slipper
18. Sekope Kepu
19. Rob Simmons
20. Liam Gill
21. "Unnamed Halfback (Luke Burgess/ Nic Phipps)"
22. Christian Leali'ifano
23. Nick Cummins

In the top 3!! What super rugby have you been watching?! Lilo, Ant Fainga'a and Kyle Godwin way ahead of Horne IMO

I'm sure that ability to pass to a man with an overlap, as well as exploit a backline with a reserve super rugby #9, who rarely gets on the park defending at 12(?) as well as getting 3 out of 5 shots at goal missing 2 that were not too difficult (though credit where credit is due, he slotted the most difficult ones) should easily translate to success between what is an amalgamation of 4 top 12 test nations.

I think we can select the 1st 15 out of that 25.
My guess
1.Robinson
2.Moore
3. Slipper
4. Simmons
5.Horwill
6.Higginbotham
7.Hooper
8.Palu
9.Genia
10.JOC (James O'Connor)
11.Ioane
12.Barnes
13.AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper)
14.Tomane
15.Folau

The extra 6 will probably be, Beale, Cooper, Burgess, MMM, Douglas & Hanson.

Well you clearly haven't watched any games for the past month, where Horne has clearly been the form 12. He was good again last night and outplayed Lilo IMO.

But you obviously have the blinkers on so I doubt bringing logic into it will make much difference to your opinion.

So he's in the top 4, then?

Because you just named 3. One of whom was also selected. One of whom is too inexperienced. And one of whom has only played 2 games at 12 this season and is a defense-only player.
