After a slow/poor start to the season, Dave Dennis is starting to play well again, last 3 games have been his best. Had a look at his stats from Fox last game:

-20 tackles
-15 runs
-3 tackle busts
-1 linebreak create
-1 try
-1 offload
-1 missed tackle
-1 penalty conceded

The smh.com.au article today said that 8 of the 11 Tahs tries were backline tries.

When Dennis and Douglas' tries were both scored in the corner and Hooper's try was on the end of a long break, I'd argue that really all 11 tries were backline tries.

Dennis has definitely picked it up in the last few games. He's bridging the gap to Mowen and Higginbotham. Higgers is still the best in attack but weakest in defence. Mowen can't really afford any lapses between now and the Lions series otherwise he'll find himself missing out to the incumbents again (and mass outrage from Brumbies fans will ensue).

Three Super games left in Sydney for the Tahs in 2013, how 'bout you bright sparks at Waratahs HO come up with a special three match membership and promote the crap out of it? The players are doing their bit to get rugby on the map in the local media, it's time for you lot to do your bit.

Jeez, let's not throw the baby out with the bathwater here. By all means offer a three-game deal, but we don't need to be offering ridiculous prices and killing our own bottom line.

Why not have a farewell party at one of the remaining home games for the outgoing near-invisible CEO? Half the crowd would turn up to make sure he's really going, while most of the rest would attend out of idle curiosity, wanting to see what he looks like.

If it means people filling up seats that would otherwise remain empty in an 80,000 capacity stadium then worth considering just like they do in other industries with a perishable commodity.
not really, if you don't fill the top tier then you don't have to staff it. if you get 10,000 tickets away at $5ea it would't pay for itself to open the rest of the ground, including security, cleaning vendors etc

General admission is in the lower tier behind the sticks. So you're not opening any other parts of the ground.

Maybe Jason Allen was at lunch during the last spring clean and no-one noticed and they forgot to clean him out.

Other than his current role, he seems to have had no rugby experience whatsoever. Judging by this which is his 'official' biography, he seems to be a typical corporate administrator. Judging by his career, he doesn't seem to have any particular affinity for the organisations for which he has worked. Rugby, motor racing, AFL, telecommunications, hospitality & tourism.

One part of his biography states

Mr Allen joined Waratahs Rugby in November 2010 with the aim of delivering a high performance environment implemented via a three year business plan and designed to ensure Waratahs Rugby Ltd is sustainable and that rugby within the state of New South Wales continues to grow and prosper.
