Oh FFS Taqele on the wing against either Tomane or Speight? Please shoot yourself whoever said that.

Carraro at 14 in Bread can't start. And if Bread is in any way injured, he CAN'T START.

Big Fiji needs to under stand the position, I've only seen him once but an experienced back line could hurt him.

Its an interesting quandary we have if Alofa is out. Normally with Crawford headed south next year, you'd want to be looking to develop new players. But we are on the crest of a wave and one wipeout will likely mean we miss the all-important home final. So we have to pick the best possible winger for the game, taking into account who we are playing. Given the Brumbies play Jakeball, you might want to have a good kicker in the back three to give some variation and assistance to Izzy. But Carraro has been good this year too. Taqele should not be considered for anything but a bench spot, its just too big a risk.

An experience stable structure
10 foley
11 AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper)
12 Horne
13 Carrara
14 izzy
15 KB (Kurtley Beale)
AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper), KB (Kurtley Beale), Izzy would obviously swap around and tear the brumbies appart.

However my choice if I had a say.
10 foley,
11 Kellaway
12 Beale,
13 AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper),
14 Northam,
15 Izzy,
Pre season I would have had Horne at 12 and KB (Kurtley Beale) on the bench playing a similar role to what he played with the Wobs - the last 30. Still not sold on him being a 12 but he's the incumbent. I've opted for specialist wingers who score tries.

I watched Wests (Alofa) vs Randwick (Carraro) and both finished the game and didn't look injured at all, although Alofa and heavy strapping at the start of the game on his leg.

Carraro was surprisingly good this time and clearly stood out as a Super Rugby player, Alofa was less impressive but didn't get as good ball.

Saw highlights of Uni vs Norths and both McCutcheon and Crawford scored tries.

Clarkie just mentioned to be available for the playoffs a player has to be named in the 23 4 times in the regular season. This only applies to mid-season signings right and someone like Chapman is still able to play?

Dennis's injury now makes Chapman's fitness/progress paramount. Mitch is a very good lineout exponent, something we should keep up our sleeves when Skelton's on the paddock.

Don't know the answer to that but I would guess that Taqele will be on the bench for the next two weeks, so he gets his four up.

I think you have to have EITHER been part of the squad named at the start of the season OR joined it before a certain date & been in the 23 at least 4 times. I'm guessing it's to stop a repeat of a Sethfricken side bringing someone back from Europe & starting him in a SF a few years back.

Taqele's eligibility will depend on when he joined the 'Tahs, not how many times he's been in the 23, same goes for Nadolo who wasn't in the initial Crusaders squad.

Chapman should be covered by the squad rule I believe.

Anyway, the Highlanders are quietly scaring the shit out of me. Got some very good backs - Smith, Smith, and Fekitoa to be precise, a solid forward pack, and some other good units out wide who aren't just making up numbers.

The true shame of it is the Mrs planned a weekend away up in the Hunter, and when I mentioned that we want to get moving back to Sydney before lunch, she narrowed her eyes and said "We'll see".

I'll be good.

........ but not there, we all know what "we'll see" means when translated from wifey speak.

Sun arvo at the SFS with the Highlanders.. should aim for 35k+

Definitely. What was the crowd for the Brumbies match? Looked around 30k, which is okay but given they had so many weeks to promote it, the prices were cheap and the game almost a playoff for the top of the Australian conference, I think it was slightly disappointing.

Sources said 35-40K here, but the weather would have scared a few off.

Parked back of the Novotel on street, dinner at the Brasserie, and cheap tickets. Great night out. Shame about the temperature! ;)

But as the great man once said: uts not tuddlywunks bro!

Denno gone for the season. Confirmed.

Equation is simple now. Win next week and we are top 2. Win the week after and we are top 1. One step at a time.
